Funny this, coming from a failed botanist with a big mouth.
go away with your wimpy bullying comment nonsense. No one is bullying anyone. Most people who cry bully are wimps, or weak.
And you are a Huckabee guy I see. Splains a lot.
You are in no position to call Mr. Trevor Louden stupid. Sorry, you just are not - you have no access to enough cred to do that credibly.
And what he is saying, which is NOT even debatable, is that Cruz is the one who most closely resembles the very views and mindsets that Rush, Levin and Hannity have portrayed for years. And he does. Louden is saying come on guys, wake up, this is exactly what you’ve been talking about for 10,15, 25 years whatever....
That candidate is Ted Cruz.
Sure they will, eventually. Elections are ultra-marathons, not sprints.
Actually this, declaring a must support candidate ridiculously early, is what needs to be stopped. The debate is the important part. It’s when we learn who these candidates actually are, what they actually support. If there’s something that supports the “corporate” candidate it’s the circular firing squad of everybody demanding their guy is the only one and all other supporters are silly heretics destroying the party and movement.
We don’t even know who all the candidates are yet and you’ve already decided nothing else needs to be learned about any of them? That’s a sad piece of close minded willful ignorance.
Sure I am. He just displayed it.
We don’t even know who all the candidates are yet, so the idea that it’s not debatable which candidate most closely resembles a mindset is, quite frankly, pathetic.
i think it will fall on deaf ears until all candidates announce. Also, it would look really bad for them to advocate for a candidate until all have announced.
With that said, they all better be prepared to get behind Ted as early as possible after that time. We have no time to spare before 2 candidates with decent conservative credentials split the vote and let Jeb or some other loser in
Definitely, I see Rand Paul and all I think is "atheist".
I agree. We make a mistake savaging candidates who agree with us far more than they don’t. I’m a Cruz supporter, as are you, and after him comes Walker. But I’m willing to get behind any 80%+ conservative. Jeb Bush is not a real conservative, nor is Christie.
I acknowledge that the Gop-E should be ameliorated, as Reagan did with Bush long ago. That’s why Fiorini is on my list as a VP candidate. She and Susana Martinez both. Neither brings a big state. That’s why I’ll consider Kasich (Ohio) and definitely Rubio (Ohio) as VP’s.
If the Dem nominee is Hillary, and one has to wonder at this point who else it could be, then Fiorini actually IS a great weapon against Hillary.
Wouldn’t we feel stupid if Cruz lost because we savaged his VP selection Fiorini? I would.
I fear too many getting into this race I don’t want to see another 2012 with so many candidates sucking up money and resources only to fall like dominoes with Bush being the last man standing like Romney was; we need to unite behind one man now, one man who can flow through the primary unscathed by the wannabe’s.
They are all sincere people and none ready for POTUS but one who was born ready; a man very well rounded yet sharp edged on the inside ready and willing to cut and shred through all the crap; a man destined for times such as these.
Another problem, there will be debates and 8 to 12 or more people in the race we won’t get to hear but a few minutes from any one one of them, and you can bet whatever debate question panel there is; will want to put Cruz on ignore.
CRUZ 2016!
FWIW, I’m in agreement with the letter and those who say, let’s get behind Cruz now. We all know enough about the candidates (declared and undeclared) to know there’s only one guy out there who has been extremely consistent in his conservative views. On top of that, Cruz is brilliant and has stood up to both parties in Washington fearlessly. No one in the current crop, with the possible exception of Scott Walker has shown nearly as much spine.
Why do we have to wait until Cruz is already being savaged by the Bushies and the Roves and the GOPe in the long primary process. I say let’s unite behind this guy in great numbers, help him raise a huge campaign war chest to get his message out and preempt the competition.
Thank you! I needed that eye opener. I listen to and enjoy Savage...mostlyfor entertainment value, but my time could be better spent.
99% behind Cruz.
As much as I like your Zappa tag line, I have to disagree with what you are saying. We already know what the other declared and undeclared candidates think as they have been in the public eye for a sufficient amount of time that we have heard their views. Frankly (no pun intended), the debates are a less reliable barometer of who they really are because they are prepped by handlers and pollsters about what to say and how to say it. When you see them in the public arena over time, you can sift through it all and see what they are about and how their stated convictions stood the test of time.
Having said that, if we screw this up, we’re all going to spend the rest of our lives in San Berdino.
We don’t know all the candidates yet. We know the people we THINK are going to be candidates, but with 8 months until the first vote is cast there’s a lot of time in there.
I agree on the actual debates, complete waste of time. But the overall “debate” of the election process (which is what he was referring to and I kept the word) is another matter entirely. Many topics will rise and fall over the coming months, candidates will have to react to them, some candidates may prove to have good platforms but dumb mouths, some may show that while they talk a good game it’s all talk.
You mention see how their stated convictions stand the test of time. That’s EXACTLY what I’m saying people should do. There’s EIGHT months between now and the first vote. And entire NFL season and half the playoffs will happen in between now and then. There’s no reason why we have to jump behind somebody now. Let it play out, let the candidates really show themselves under the stress of the campaign, give them a chance to stick their foot in it. See if they stand the test of time. See if somebody Reagans in. It’s May 5, there’s quite simply no reason to be making January 18th decisions yet.
Are you aware that Rubio is FOR amnesty?
Nope. Cruz or lose. Walker is politically expedient and will turn coat at the first sign of trouble with his platform. He's far too squishy. Not a REAL Conservative, in my book.
If the GOP manages to get anybody but Cruz out front, expect to lose in 2016. I will NOT vote for ANY GOP candidate under any circumstance, outside of Cruz. I love my Country far too much to continue allowing the GOP to trample Conservatives. Go ahead. Support someone else. And when Hitlery wins, remember, it was your fault.
Be a REAL AMERICAN - get behind Cruz now, or be ready to lose 2016.
Not a fan of Savage. His views are often odd and loud.
Re Cruz ... I will say this .... and get lambasted ...I kind of agree w/ Savage about Cruz’s voice. Cruz does not have a voice that I believe will resonate w/ the masses. By that I mean he doesn’t come across with a low, well modulated speaking tone.
It will also be interesting to see if Cruz can catch on/break through the crowded field of R’s running for POTUS. We know the MSM will do all they can to portray Cruz as a ‘fringe’ candidate. And the Huckster threw out some red meat for the MSM today w/ his sly comments about his R opponents.
Easy, I can’t stand Huckaliar. I’d sooner support a bucket of spit over Huckabeeeee.
Cruz, OR LOSE.
“Be a REAL AMERICAN - get behind Cruz now, or be ready to lose 2016. “
Hear, hear....
This has GOT TO BE the message through the primaries. Put Cruz out in front for the generals, or just get ready to lose 2016. It's not that hard to understand. Conservatives are far too sick and tired to continue playing the BS politically correct game. We ain't had a real Conservative in over 30 years in office. All that has resulted from that is the GOP has shifted in a very major way to the left. That is all voting for the "lesser of evils" has gotten us. Put the REAL CONSERVATIVE out front, or go home. We're done with the BS. Want a GOP President? Put Cruz out front. Get behind him. Forget the rest. Want to lose 2016? Put out anyone but Cruz.
