It was announced over the weekend that the 10 p.m. curfew in Baltimore was being lifted in a move intended to bring a sense of normalcy back to the city.
The curfew had been implemented last week in the wake of destructive riots and looting that occurred after the funeral of Freddie Gray, a young black man who died from a spinal injury while in police custody.
Now that the smoke has cleared and the clean up of the city continues, it has been revealed that approximately 200 businesses were destroyed in the riots, causing untold millions of dollars in damage and lost business.
However, a connection among most of the destroyed businesses was also revealed too, and it has to do with who owned the destroyed businesses.
During the riots, many black-owned businesses put up signs announcing such and directing looters to take out their criminal aggression elsewhere, if they weren’t already being protected by gangs and protestors.
According to Breitbart, most of the businesses destroyed in the largely black areas affected by the Baltimore riots were owned by Arabs or Asians, and not white Americans, reminiscent of the Los Angeles riots in the 1990s.
“Stores were being looted a lot of terrible things, but since then I’ve seen incredible acts of kindness,” said Maryland Gov. Larry Hogan, speaking about the riots last Monday night before noting that the city had largely returned to a peaceful status.
Thankfully, Gov. Hogan stepped in to the dire situation the day after the riots, sending in the National Guardto help keep things mostly peaceful over the past week and allow the city to begin recovering.
Meanwhile, the mayor of Baltimore must still answer for allowing the rioters to loot at will on the night of lawless rioting, and the Arab and Asian business owners should hold her directly responsible for the loss of their livelihood.

The cry is: These people desperately need jobs (which the left always tries to blame on the right);
But, since the left’s culture has taught these students that the business owner is the culprit as to why they don’t have jobs .. they just burn down the businesses.

And, like clockwork, clueless federal, state and local politicians will start talking about the need to bring new businesses and investment to inner city Baltimore as a way to rebuild and provide jobs. What they won’t admit is that no business is going to set up shop in an area where there is a risk of being destroyed by riots.
They stole anything they could in those businesses first especially the CVS where they took the meds and drugs

Yes - the media and government did a great job of minimizing the extent of the rioting and arson we saw, didn't they?
What I saw made the riots look localized and showed only a few buildings burning.

I was having a conversation with some folks the other day and one of them decided to opine on his views of tolerance. I told the group that I ascribed to the old version of tolerance (letting folks be as long as they weren't causing outside damage) and never "updated" my tolerance to modern standards. i told them that if Joe got mad at Charlie and decided to express his displeasure by destroying my neighborhood and home, then Joe and his friends would be crawling over each others dead bodies to accomplish their mission.
One of the group was Black and I was accused of being racist. I pointed out that Joe and Charlie (real members of the group) were both White - how was I being racist? Unless one was assuming that only other races were the ones who would do such a thing, then my comment was apt - those who made the assumption were the racist ones and also stating that it was only certain races that would do such a thing.
Won't be engaged in any of their conversations again...
Why set up shop where you are not wanted, respected, and have an ability to be prosperous? Why go where they will steal you blind with shrinkages of 15% or more? Where one needs to offer security escort to customers out to their cars?
These are not racist concerns, they are community concerns. The community cannot and will not recover until a moral change of heart occurs.

Even if some clueless liberal sets up shop, no insurance company in their right mind would insure them.
My insurance agent stated that if this happened to my business, there would be no coverage. Is this true in MD, too?
I’ve heard that there would be low/no interest loans for rebuilding, but that’s the extent of the assistance.
