CDC Report: 35,369 Vehicle Accident Deaths, 505 Gun Accident Deaths

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention’s (CDC) final report on death statistics for 2013 shows there were 35,369 deaths from motor vehicle accidents versus 505 deaths from the accidental discharge of firearms.

That is not a typo—35,369 versus 505. Americans are 70 times more likely to die in a vehicle accident than by the accidental discharge of a firearm.

Yet Michael Bloomberg, Moms Demand Action, and Everytown for Gun Safety have not uttered a peep about Ford, Dodge, or Toyota control. They are utterly consumed with a new gun control push framed around accidental firearm deaths.

Where are the stats on doctor caused deaths or the poison they peddle as medicine? Where is the BAN being called for on other weapons. Knives, hands, ball bats, fence post and shoelaces?

Why is this cretin still on TN death row 21 yrs after sentencing? ALL appeals both state and fed are done and upheld.

Ashley Nichole 'Nikki' Read, age 8, she would have been 33, in March. RAPED and KILLED by David Keen. 25 yrs ago. He has been on TN Death Row for nearly 21 yrs. ALL State and Federal Appeals are FINISHED. DNA proved he raped her, he confessed he both raped and strangled her to death with her own shoe laces before he threw her little body in the river. Yet TN Gov Bill Halsam refuses to set an execution date or sign the execution warrant.

Nikki was raped, strangled with her own Shoelaces, wrapped tightly in her blanket and thrown in the river barely still alive, where she finally drown to death. Her family is going into the 26th year of waiting for Justice, is obscene.

2 juries decided and all appeals courts UPHELD, DNA PROOF, Confession, that the Death Penalty was the right course of action.

Tell TN Governor to do his Constitutional Duty, that 2 juries decided and all appeals courts UPHELD was the right course of action. The Death Penalty. He says the Dept of Corrections must do so, HE APPOINTS THE HEAD of the Dept of Corrections and Parole.

I think the number is higher, as many seniors die on OR tables or from medicines, and the deaths are deemed natural or unforeseeable, not doctor caused. How many did they put into wheel chairs because of spinal damage they did? How many are on the Medicine Merry Go Round to fix the side effects of 1 drug, then the next until you are up to 10 or more drugs to just control the first? How many patients went in for simple gallbladder surgery and came out with the Vagus Nerve severed? That gets you a life time of Gastroparesis...slow motility, and believe me it is very hard to live with. Drugs for it are FDA restricted and not very effective.

Having been given the wrong scripts a few times makes me scared of drugs especially these generics which have really weirdo names. Seeing what they did to my GI track and bones I know how dangerous they are. Putting script drugs OTC like Nexium does NOT come with a high enough warning on the facts long term use causes dependence, Barrett’s Esophagus which is a per-cancer, and Osteoporosis from brittle bones because that PPI leaches Calcium, Magnesium, Collagen, and K2 complex out of your bones over time. It is meant to be a 2 week drug.

I recommend a few books all available from Amazon at reasonable prices. DRUG MUGGERS by Susan Cohen, she also has books on diabetes and thyroid issues.

How many die from medical mistakes in US hospitals, (third leading cause of deaths in US.)

The numbers are staggering.

Note this does NOT include medicine induced health issues people die of, heart disease, cancer, A Fib, and a lot more.

Painful reminder of the real “injustice” that goes on day after day. Anyone rioting? Didn’t think so. Thanks GailA.

80% of deaths occur at speeds higher than 40mph. In a sane world that cared about human life speed limits would be 40mph and enforced. If I were king of the world it would be so.

Glad you bookmarked it. Probably only for your own knowledge because trying to use facts with the anti’s is a waste of your time. But, if it can be of some use, good.

You are welcome. I made a career of keeping my Jeremy’s killer in prison using stats that took a lot of digging to find as we began early computer and internet.

Now it’s so much easier to find what you want. As I’ve been the victim of malpractice I can’t prove, I watch DR’s like hawks, along with their meds. I’m the queen of drug reactions.

You would think the decent people of the black community would welcome LEO. But you have to look at those stats too. Half their population have been incarcerated for minor to major crimes.

I remember the anguish my neighbor in Florida had to endure every couple of years when the guy that raped and murdered her sister would come up for his parole hearings. Sad dang situation. Not race related but still the fact that he was even eligible for parole was/is pathetic.

12 people killed by LRT in the Twin Cities in recent years.
No one murdered due to permit to carry ( that I know of)

80% of deaths occur at speeds higher than 40mph. In a sane world that cared about human life speed limits would be 40mph and enforced. If I were king of the world it would be so.

Then there would be a study showing that most deaths occur over 25 mph, and you would lower the limit to 25.

Then a new study would come out showing most deaths occur at over 10 mph, and then we might as well walk.

Yes, there is some correlation between speed and severity of injury. Are you aware that there is also a correlation between speed and likelihood of accident?

Really, the faster you go, the less likely you are to be involved in an MVI. *IF* you are incompetent or unlucky and do crash, the results will be more devastating, but you are less likely to be involved in an incident above 70MPH than at 30. Really.
