I “think” Cruz is a good man who is still an effing Senator. I suppose it’s to his credit that he’s trying to crawl out of that sewer.

Remember Romney himself or his son made the admission that he wasn’t enthusiastic about being POTUS and wasn’t in the race to win...

RINOS ARE LOSERS. Guaranteed.

That’s why we need TED CRUZ and glad to hear this latest from him.

I’m sure Romney was pretty close to an accurate assessment with his 47% remark, in fact I would call that optimistic.

The only way to beat the Dems now will be a combination of attractive policy and divine intervention. With every one per cent that is added to the “Romney factor” the balance shifts further towards divine intervention.

I think it can be done, and if the subsequent victor governs wisely and well, the percentage may begin to decrease again, as it probably did in Reagan’s time. Not everyone in that dependency camp is so rooted that they cannot be changed. Probably everybody in the independent camp is there for the duration. Fortunately, if the right canddidate is on the ballot, more independents than dependents will vote. So they (we) can win even if the Romney factor rises above 50%. Another thing that might help would be if everyone votes only one time, and if everyone who votes is actually a living person.

This conservative DOES NOT agree with your assessment.

That's fine. Doesn't make it any less true.

It was a stupid thing for Romney to say in the midst of a campaign for the very reasons that Ted states.

In other words, be politically correct if you want to win. While I agree that most would say this is the way to go, I'm saying that political correctness is code for BS, and we need to get as far away from it as possible. Political correctness is destroying America. Don't be party to that.

Read the CNN article link in the article to find out WHY Ted stated what he did.

I did read the article, and while I agree that the GOP needs to be concerned with that 47%, the truth of the matter is that there is NO WAY that 47% will ever give a rat's behind about the GOP or what they do/say.

Right there with ya. This won't make me not vote for Cruz, but he needs to stay away from stuff like this. As part of the vast, right wing, conspiratorial hard core Conservative Tea Party movement, it breaks my heart to hear this from someone that I "think" is a good man. Romulan was very seldom right, but he was 100% correct about this.

Romney was unable to ever explain the comment, no one has ever been able to explain, can you since you agree with it supposedly?

Sure! 47% of the voting bloc are totally and completely funded by our tax dollars, handed to them by the left. It really doesn't matter what the right says or does, that 47% (and I agree with a previous assessment, that this is likely a conservative #) will NEVER change. They are entrenched in the leftist welfare plantation. They ain't changing their minds or values any time soon.

Even if Romney or Cruz offered the same shameless pandering that wins those votes (hypothetical since I know that neither one would) they would still pull the lever for the “D”.

Precisely. How hard is that to understand?

That would mean the over 65 crowd and the military.

Actually, the social security crowd and the military, are republican voters, the social security crowd is the most republican voting age group of all.

That would mean the over 65 crowd and the military.

Or, it could ALSO mean the babymomma welfare state, which is usually what pisses us Conservatives off, as opposed to those that deserve to be cared for, like the military crowd. Common sense, FRiend. COMMON SENSE.

So you can’t explain it either.

Care to try again to define who that 47% is?

Romney didn’t say “welfare”, he said 47%.

To this day I still believe Romney put his foot on the brake after the 1st debate for what ever reason. In the 1st one he made obama look like the man child we all know him to be......After that it was like he slacked off in the rest of the debates, it was really obvious to me.

One of the most puzzling observations in years. Had the man child on the ropes: refused to pursue victory. Who advised him to do this? Just bizarre!

Romney didn’t say “welfare”, he said 47%.

And you know damn well who he was talking about, and it had nothing to do with the military or seniors. Get a grip. I didn't, nor do I, like Romulan, at all. But in this, he was correct. Whether I or you like it or not. He was correct in this, and the TRUE Conservative base knew it. Of course, it wasn't nearly enough to make us vote for him, but that's another story.

False Premise.

Okeydokey there, Mr. Rove. Is that you? Lol. I'm sorry, but it's a perfectly legitimate premise, and it's the truth. Go ahead...go hit that 47% up and see how far you get. Go on. Don't wait. Obviously you think I'm wrong. That's fine with me. Go out and prove me otherwise. It won't happen, but get to it.

No, no one could figure out what in the heck, or who that 47% that he insulted was supposed to be, that is why it was so stupid.

He made a huge gaffe, and as you can see, you can’t explain it either.

If you recall, he never could define it or explain it, he didn’t even know what it meant.

It's an extreme exaggeration, and you know it.

It's an inflammatory statement with no way to prove it.

So you throw out the statement "Go out and prove me otherwise", knowing that that statement can't be proved.

Debate honestly, or sit on the sidelines.

He knew exactly what it meant, and he also knew that he would box himself into a corner with the libturd media if he expounded on it.

LOL, everyone is correct, it was an incredibly stupid remark.

Clueless, that is why you cannot define it or explain it.

knowing that that statement can't be proved.

I said there's no way the 47% will ever give a rats behind about the GOP. The 47% includes the likes of the rioters in Fergison/Baltimore....the 47% includes those on the statist welfare plantations...the 47% include those that own obama phones and get their heavily subsidized health care plans via the obolacare websites...Now, tell me how much those very people give a rat's behind about the GOP?
