A prisoner who shared a ride to jail with Freddie Gray claims the 25-year-old was trying to injure himself inside a police van before he died from unexplained spinal chord injuries, according to a leaked police report.
The report was leaked to the Washington Post under the proviso that the prisoner remains anonymous - raising questions about its accuracy and the favorable light which it shines on the Baltimore police force

The report is taking so long because they want to insure that the police officers who made the arrest are seen in the most unfavorable light. If it is true that Gray was intentionally trying to injure himself or that he indeed had spinal surgery a week before his arrest there would be no police brutality charges.

he and his sister were con artists and thefts .
They had a phonyblawsuit just dropped .
They needed a new lawsuit scam .
None of those are capital crimes.
Of course the prisoner needs to remain anonymous - that kind of testimony could get him killed.
I know that for sure. The longer it takes, the less credible it is likely to appear.
No one will be satisfied with the report... so it should have been expedited.

I saw the original YouTube video. The ones with CNN logos start a few seconds later with the second time they lifted Freddie up.
In the original vid, you can see the cop on the left lift Freddie’s head back onto his shoulders after the first time they pick him up.
Freddie’s head appeared to have fallen onto his back — literally — and was not visible until the blue suited cop lifted it back into place.
I couldn’t figure out what was going on until I watched the first few seconds a few times. It was horrific.

Because the people putting it together are deciding if the truth is worth all of the leftist death threats they are about to receive.
Exactly. Took two weeks to concoct this story. And it is not even that good of a story.

The now deceased Mr. Gray seemed to have a compulsion for filing law suits against those with deep pockets, particularly those involving personal injury. Perhaps he saw another huge opportunity by taking advantage of his ride in the paddy wagon but forgot about his recent surgery.

It happens like that sometimes...A woman pounds herself in the face, neck and who knows where else to make it look like her husband or boyfriend did it...A black man or woman tries to make it look like they’ve been the victim of police brutality...A son or daughter causes self-inflicted injuries and tries to blame a sibling or one or both parents, false claims of rape, gays making claims of homophobic violence against them, etc., etc., etc. People who do these kinds of things should be charged with felonies.
I should add - I don’t think it’s been confirmed that Gray did in fact have recent surgery. It’s still an open question - but obviously an important one.
He was certainly into drugs. He was also the recipient of legal compensation to do with lead-paint poisoning. Could either of those have left him with a pre-existing medical condition involving weak bones?
