Whole Foods & Five Guys come under fire for tone-deaf police stunt (kids can't get free food)

--snip-- About 84 percent of students in city’s public schools receive free or reduced-price lunches, according to the school district’s website. The closings mean that these students were unable to access these lunches, and churches and community centers have been scrambling to fill the gap.

That’s why it was so shocking to hear that Whole Foods and Five Guys had taken the initiative to provide free food for National Guard soldiers instead of for thousands of high-need children.

Even the Woman that is hailed today for bitch slapping her thug in making hoodie wearing kid is a “single parent” of Six spawn.

Anyone care to wager if any social money goes to feeding that brood?

All those kids who “qualify” for free lunches... why in the hell can’t their “mothers” use those food stamps for something worthwhile and make their brown-bag lunches for their kids? Or is that forbidden now?

Why do the Salon clowns think it’s Whole Foods’ and Five Guys’ responsibility to feed students? They’re not the ones who shut the schools down.

Hmm, delivery to centralized locations where National Guard troops are deployed, or random youths showing up for a free lunch...

I could see why these businesses might have made the decisions they did.

It’s a tragedy!

Parents will be responsible for feeding their own kids!
How unfair is that?

Must be some kind of right wing scheme to starve poor little little black kids.

Apology accepted FRiend. It’s funny because I found out about this because one of the office liberals was going around trying to collect for a charity that was going to provide lunches for the kids. I told her to try and get some money from the Clinton Foundation.

This is why it might be a good idea to always carry a $10 or $20 gift card for Chick-Fil-A in our wallets.

"Sorry, don't have any cash on me. But here's a $20 card for some Chick-Fil-A".

It would be like handing garlic to a vampire.

As always, follow the money. School districts get money from the feds (taxpayers) for having kids on the “free” food programs. I read that in some LA schools, over 80% of the kids are eating breakfast at school. Some parents have started to complain about the time this takes away from classroom instruction and that they resent the government assuming they don’t feed their kids at home.

As for the denizens of Baltimore, well... everyone knows what the problem is, but nobody can say it.

Now that’s one of the greatest ideas I’ve seen today - I might try that myself :)

Let the kids parent spend the food stamp money for them instead of buying drugs and alcohol with it. it seems like every time I go through the checkout line at a supermarket, as I am being handed back my change the cashier states, “Would you like to donate a dollar to pay for food for hungry children?” Usually in a loud voice. My response at the same voice level is, “No, let their parent spend the food stamp money on food instead of drugs”. One or more people in line behind me shake their heads yes.

Believe it or not, I never tried 5G until i got to Vancouver canada. With the amount of welfare checks these deadbeats get, it’s impossible for kids to go hungry in this country.

Wow! Salon just hit a new low. They aren’t capable of understanding regular men and women in the National Guard need to eat too. They are away from home. The kids can always bring a lunch to school. I did it for years.

They also can’t see the difference between 5,000 people and 70,000 or however many are in that school system. Crazy. One wonders how they can even form words with an intellect like that.

One more reason for Salon to hate America, expecting parents to feed their own kids. Loaf of bread- $1.00, Jar of peanut butter- $3.00 = lunch for 2 weeks.

Ha, In our little burg of 10,000 they have decided to not only feed them breakfast and lunch. They started a program last year to feed them through out the Summer when school is not is session.

My question is, Why the hell are we giving them E.B.T. or in our state “Bridge Cards” to by food? The freaking school is already feeding them with my property tax money.

Maybe the angry contingent could ask the looters to donate some of the food and snacks they stole earlier this week to the kids.

And they don’t wonder at all why those children don’t come back from summer break looking like Ethiopian refugees.

There's actually a summer school lunch program
