The thing that comes to mind is when Caiaphas and the Sanhedrin were questioning Jesus and when He spoke the truth,
the screamed and rent their garments.
There was also an occasion when the council was questioning St. Paul, and he got them to fighting each other over the doctrine of resurrection.
