A British newly-wed couple have told how they ran for their lives and clung desperately to ice axes rammed in to the ground to survive a terrifying wall of snow on Mount Everest in the wake of the Nepal earthquake.
Alex Schneider and Sam Chappatte, both 28, were on a dream hike up the worlds biggest mountain when the ground began shaking violently and their guide screamed get out of your f****** tents, grab your ice axes.
The London couple said they saw an avalanche coming straight at us and were blown over by a blast of wind.

Well, thank goodness.I ready the story and thought,a gay couple on their honeymoon.
They usually go from left to right when naming people so Alex must be the woman.
Talk about your 1%: honeymooning on Mount Everest, *and* they both had their teeth fixed.
I imagine they are very concerned about global sustainability.
And yet, there they were, exhaling carbon dioxide on Mount Everest.
They had better fortune than the newlywed couple on the Germanwings flight.
That confirms it then! There are no good Brit dentists!
This is also more glaring evidence that the Vikings removed most of the attractive women from the gene pool of the British Isles.
Yes, there are exceptions but those genes were brought in by other conquerors.
Alex isn’t bad looking, but the teeth look fake.
Thanks for posting all these threads on this horrible story.
I’m very glad these people are OK.
Sorry some here don’t like their names, their teeth or their choice of honeymoon spot.
Times like these the idiots come out of the woodwork.
Dan Mazur looks to be a bullfighter. Well done, Dan. In a strange way, I wish I was there . . . never had the experience of car-sized boulders raining around me. I’d like to try it sometime. And the end would be quick, if you know what I mean.
ROFLOL!
First thing that entered my mind.
Thanks for this article; can’t even imagine the terror involved, and happy these folks got out. Was “romantic” to read the couple depicted have been together since they were fifteen. :)
First let me say i am so thankful for the survivors and sorrowful over those who did not make it away. But when i read your post i laughed until i had tears. Then i reread it and laughed again. You have a way with words!
Thanks!
