I’d hesitate to call this a masterful move on Cruz’s part. Holding a campaign event with a pair of NYC homosexuals by itself will likely beget a whispering campaign against him in South Carolina, a state he can ill afford to lose. A lot of things move below the surface in politics here.

I’m sure he’s concluded that those who would vote in that manner, will ultimately support Huckabee or Santorum anyway.

If he had, before he made that needless error, he was mistaken. Huck and Santorum have the repute of losers, and Cruz had been well-positioned to snatch up previous supporters of theirs. Frankly, this move makes it look like Cruz is playing social conservatives for suckers.

I don’t think he’s playing anyone for suckers. In very public fashion, Sen. Cruz made it known that he has support among these gay individuals, who support his policies on Israel and defense. They supported him in Texas. Myself, I think it’s great.

However, if you, and others like minded won’t support him for that reason, he’s apparently accepted that circumstance. I don’t think he would view it in the nature of a “mistake”. He strikes me as a man of deep religious belief and moral conviction, and if winning votes means he has to turn his back on people who have been his loyal friends and supporters, I suspect he will accept the lost of those votes.

“Hah, I love it. Cruz has made politics fun again.”

I finally have a politician that represents my point if view, without apologizing or backing down.

The “climate change” leftists really blew it a couple months ago, when a U.N. official with the IMCC (climate change summit) blurted out “ The REAL goal of ours is to destroy capitalism”
