Tomorrow, April 24, 2015, is the 99th Anniversary of the Easter Monday Rising in Dublin. It was a rising sure to fail from the outset given the might of the British. Yet from the seeds planted that day rose something the World had not seen for centuries – a free Irish Nation!

God Bless the Irishmen and Irishwomen who fell in that struggle!

Here's some fun.

The original.

Beethoven: Piano Sonata in C minor, Op. 13, second movement

And then Billy Joel turned it into a doo-wop song.

Billy Joel: “This Night”

I did indeed Sally Forth today. I got to the train station early, and, of course, the train was late. :)

The delay, as usual, amplified as the trek went on. The Metro was delayed due to an electrical problem. I arrived at the Office at 0725 - was barely able to slide in under the 0730 starting bell.

Weather was cool and windy both morning and night. We're supposed to have a freeze overnight here.

I love the wee little bit of drag when he intrudoces the second subject...it doesn’t alter the timing at all...it is so subtle, but I feel it.

Now here is another cool comparison

Bach:

I always thought that Joel should have credited Beethoven for that tune. Melissa Manchester also copped it - Midnight Blues.

I am prepared to give my life in their defense."

The Catholics also adapted that tune for a Lenten hymn.
