As governor of Wisconsin, Scott Walker was a supporter of a company that helps wealthy Chinese citizens immigrate to the the United States. This revelation stands in contrast to his recent statement that legal immigration policy should be based on protecting American workers and American wages.
Not only did Walker previously support so-called amnesty (which some argue would be a magnet drawing more illegals) but as governor, he has been a long time friend of a company based in Beijing and Milwaukee that helps foreign investors become United States Citizens through the Department of Homeland Security Immigrant Investor (EB-5) program.
This is the same program that Hillary brother and Virginia Gov. Terry McAuliffe appear to have gamed.
According to the companys website, The partnership provides an investment vehicle that qualifies investors for a Green Card and Citizenship, if so desired. The investment is a $500,000 minimum required program, targeted toward high net worth individuals who understand and appreciate the convenience and timeliness created by participating in a carefully designed program.
As a long time friend, Walker even traveled to Shanghai with the company.
In fairness, most governors support policies like these because they want wealthy foreigners to invest in their state. In return, these rich foreigners get visas and perhaps a better shot at citizenship. And, for what its worth, the Milwaukee Journal notes that The Wisconsin Economic Development Corp., under Gov. Scott Walker, has encouraged the Chinese to invest in Wisconsin.
I have requested a comment from Scott Walkers Our American Revival, and will update this post if and when that comes.
I think he's crossed the Rubicon. We'll see. His position polls very well. The problem is keeping the big donors on board.
He’s crossed the Rubicon

Yes, without a paddle!
Peace. I’m for Cruz, but I have great respect for what Gov. Walker has accomplished—
But, for no reason whatsoever, he set himself up for a Pence here- I just think it was dumb politics.
As for the polls, as to illegal immigration, that’s a winner. As to legal immigration, no matter what the polls say, that’s easily turned into a loser. Based on your comments, I can tell you’re perceptive enough to know what I mean.
Rut ro you Walker backers.
Does not shine well on your gem.
Now leave me alone and go bother someone else.
What many don’t understand about some of the visas is how hard it is for foreigners to qualify for some of them.
“A governor is not in charge of immigration and In a state like Wisc it isnt much of a problem. I dont suppose it was on his front burner.”
Remember the Arizona Immigration Bill that Gov. Jan Brewer signed into law in 2010? I believe at one time Gov. Scott Walker made a public statement in support of the law. He said,
“If I were governor of Arizona, I too would sign the Arizona immigration bill.
As Governor of Wisconsin, I will sign legislation that strengthens our protection against illegal immigration and ensures that taxpayer funded benefits like Badger Care, in-state tuition, and drivers licenses are not available to those who are here illegally.”
As to it being on Walker’s front burner. Perhaps not but he certainly had opinions, strong ones, as far back as his county executive days and has made statements in interviews over recent years. So he apparently has put more than a little thought into it and he recently petitioned to have a Mexican consulate built in WI.
There has been strong lobbying from the farming industry for an increase in work visa. 40% of Wi farm workers are immigrants. If you want to do research of the number of immigrants in WI there is a lot of statistics out there.
As for Walker now stating he wants to reduce legal immigration as well that is not exactly what he said. He talked about taking into consideration affects on the wages and jobs of American workers in regards to legal immigration. That leaves a lot of wiggle room and he is not committing himself to anything.
Don’t come here...spouting rational thought!
I suppose the democrats have a list called “the top 2,000 potential republican leaders”. They fax out that list to the media and to local democrat offices, and their job is to ask inexperienced politicians rigged questions. Using these answers, they can then seed them into conservative conversations and have conservatives fight one another while they’re also killing off their young.
This is a LONG way from illegally entering the US If the company that did this was doing something wrong they should pay ...end of story
>> Dont come here...spouting rational thought! <<
Yeah, your’re right. I forgot the rules. My bad. I’ll try to improve.
“In fairness, most governors support policies like these “
So what is the problem?
Whatever the Chamber of Commerce wants, Walker is happy to produce.
I don’t have a problem with wealthy persons coming to the US.
Once they are US Residents, they must pay our income tax for all monies earned throughout the world. :-). We need their money.
This isn’t a bad plan. The MSM are Dems with Bylines and I don’t trust a third of what they say to be true. At least that’s my personal experience with them.
They’re not reporters, but opinion writers posing as reporters.
Let’s keep our perspective.
Another crony capitalist pay to play, Government picking winners and losers scheme.
The only problem I have is when the wealthy Chinese guy gets his green card, sets up shop, and gets preferred Minority Business status.
TADSLOS, I will have to tell you I considered this. I didn’t fire off on it because it is legal, and I know governors do what they can to spark economic growth in their states.
If a wealthy guy comes over and starts up a business here, investments and all, I’m not going to trash the idea.
I do have concerns along the lines of what you stated. I’ll admit to that. I’m not certain it is justified, so I opted out.
Doesn’t mean I’m right.
What I do know is that Walker lied, and I don’t care to be lied to. Others just love to be lied to. Others love to read articles they know are based on nothing but fabrication.
I have to answer to my own conscience.
How else are we to choose a candidate if we do not discuss honestly the strengths and weaknesses of our candidate? Are we to ignore it when they contradict themselves? I don’t consider honest discussion “eating our own”. This isn’t National Enquirer “gotchas”.
I think most of us here have been sticking to the facts, making an effort to support our statements using links and comparing the candidates based on their statements and policies. That’s our job as voting citizens.
I don’t believe in party loyalty. I’m not a republican.
The Clintons and their backers look to the UN, and to George Soros, and to anti-American countries (who have a vested interest in a weak U.S. national defense [what Hillary and her administration in waiting call "SMART" national/international defense/diplomacy] and a weak U.S. economy).
When Americans (of all stripes) understand that this is where the Clinton's money and muscle comes from, they will understand why her election is so bad for them.
It couldn't be clearer and that is why the MSM is going along with Hillary's "Un-running" campaign.
