Loretta Sanchez makes her case for U.S. Senate, but Santa Ana congresswoman stops short
Orange County Register ^ | April 20, 2015 | MARTIN WISCKOL

Sounding like she’s on the verge of declaring her candidacy for U.S. Senate, Rep. Loretta Sanchez encouraged donors in Orange County to pony up Monday and explained why she would be a better choice than Attorney General Kamala Harris.

Sanchez, a Santa Ana Democrat, has been meeting with Democratic and Latino leaders throughout the state as she weighs whether to join Harris, the only major declared Democratic candidate, in the 2016 race to replace retiring Sen. Barbara Boxer, D-Calif.

“We’ve gotten a good reception up and down the state,” Sanchez told the Democratic Foundation of Orange County, a group of lawyers and business people who pay $1,000 annual dues for membership. Asked at the Hilton Irvine luncheon if she would run for Senate, she pointed out the fundraising envelopes on the tables.

The only major declared Republican candidate, Assemblyman Rocky Chavez of San Diego, had raised $12,000.

Democrats’ 15-percentage point edge in the state’s voter registration makes a GOP victory a long shot. Democratic Reps. Adam Schiff of Burbank and Xavier Becerra of Los Angeles are also considering bids.

In her speech to the 40 people on hand, Sanchez gave a quick review of Orange County projects she’s been involved with, then discussed at length her work as the second-ranking Democrat on the House Armed Services Committee and as a member of the Homeland Security Commission.

In focusing on issues of interest throughout the state, the 10-term congresswoman noted that she opposed U.S. invasion of Iraq and the Patriot Act, which increased the government’s ability to spy on U.S. citizens. She also emphasized the need to be prudent with defense spending.

“We have enough nuclear weapons in the United States to blow up the world 23 times,” said Sanchez, 55. “And some Republicans want to make that 24 times.”

Loretta Sanchez? LOL. She’s as dumb as a box of rocks. What’s her slogan? “Stupid People Need to be Represented in the Senate Too!!”

She’s as dumb as a box of rocks

...but cunning enough to steal an election and scam the public for a life of celebrity in congress.

Mexifornia will vote for her.

The race is the Democrat primary. The general election is now just a forum for a wealthy GOP candidate to buy a few months publicity.

The large Latino population in California and around the country will not take a backseat to the white and black liberals in the Democratic Party anymore. This is where supporting illegal immigration comes back to bite the white and black liberals where it hurts the most; their hold on political power and patronage.

“Loretta Sanchez? LOL. She’s as dumb as a box of rocks.”

Well she does have a certain rat-like cunning, but other than that you’re absolutely right.

And that’s why big time California Democrats behind the scenes love her. She doesn’t have a mind of her own and follows their orders. So they’ll get behind her 100%. Loretta will be a reliable tool of the Hollywood Left.

I still can’t get over Sanchez “beating” Bob Dornan.

Not exactly. Loretta Sanchez isn’t a threat to the old guard. She’s just a latina face on the same group that runs the Democrat party.

“I still can’t get over Sanchez “beating” Bob Dornan.”

Well you couldn’t get Bob Dornan to lift a finger to do anything about the massive immigration, legal and illegal, that was changing the demographics of SoCal.

In fact Dornan was an air-headed cheerleader on the subject, not far from Jebster Bush’s current position. At least until he got cheated out of his House seat by a whole lot of illegally cast ballots.

Dornan complained about it but got zero support from the GOPe, which was willing to throw Dornan under the bus in order not to offend the latino lobby.

Well she wasn’t going to be invited by California’s Democrats. They already have a lock on the state thanks to the GOPe’s help in transforming California from Reagan Country into the capital of the third world.

And besides, if you look at the GOPe’s last candidate for Governor you’d see that we don’t need Democrats to provide us with leftwing choices. Neel Kashkari is pro abortion and pro gay marriage. That’s who the California GOP leadership chose over Tea Party favorite Tim Donnelly.

Good point.

Sandy Fluke found out the home team isn’t that accomodating for interloper candidates, despite spending a million bucks of her in-laws dough on the campaign.

She had a little help from the GOP controlled House if you recall. The GOPe hated B1 Bomber Bob.
