Marco Rubio: Being Gay Is Not a Choice
Newsmax ^ | Sunday, 19 Apr 2015

Posted on 04/19/2015 12:03:07 PM PDT by SoConPubbie

Republican presidential candidate Marco Rubio says he does not believe sexual orientation is a choice for the "enormous majority of people."

The Florida senator's comments came Sunday on CBS's Face the Nation, where he said that it should be up to states rather than the Supreme Court to define marriage and that he considers marriage to be between a man and a woman.

"I also don't believe that your sexual preferences are a choice for the vast and enormous majority of people. In fact, the bottom line is, I believe that sexual preference is something people are born with," Rubio said.

He and other Republican presidential hopefuls have faced questions in recent days about their positions on same-sex marriage as the nation's top court prepares for what is expected to be a broad ruling on the constitutionality of the issue in June.

Americans support the right of same-sex couples to wed, 55 percent to 42 percent, according to a Gallup poll in May 2014, reflecting sweeping movement in public opinion over nearly two decades. Republican support has also grown, but stands at just 30 percent, according to the poll.

In an interview with Fusion published Wednesday, Rubio said he would attend a same-sex wedding.

“If it’s somebody in my life that I care for, of course I would,” he said. “I’m not going to hurt them simply because I disagree with a choice they’ve made or because I disagree with a decision they’ve made, or whatever it may be."

Texas Senator Ted Cruz said he has never had to make such a decision, dodging the question. Former Pennsylvania Senator Rick Santorum, who has not announced a campaign yet, said he would not attend such a wedding.

Ohio Governor John Kasich, another possible candidate, said he and his wife had been invited to a same-sex wedding and plan to attend, CNN reported Saturday.

First of all, I don’t want to screw them. LOL

I don’t disagree with your thoughts regarding homosexuals because I have actually seen a homosexual state this emphatically regarding himself. How much of the total group feels this way, I don’t know. I’ve suspected it’s a lot higher than folks might think.

My only reason for addressing this issue is the 2-3% that are trying to force their lifestyle on the public at large.

Can you imagine if 97-98% of the populace spent the energy they do trying to sell heterosexuality to them?

ISIS is perfectly fine... as long as they’re only lopping of the heads of Christians. if they started attacking fags, there’d be an outrage in the media

did you forget... ISIS is now our allies. hell, we’ve been shipping them weapons for months

Actually, this is probably a good development because Marco looks more and more likely to take votes from Jeb Bush than from Ted Cruz or any other true conservative.

He’s trying to appeal to voters with diametrically opposing views and everyone knows how well that usually works.

Marco Rubio is my senator...

I had really high hopes for him to be part of a new conservative movement...

I cannot explain how disappointed I am in him...

I thought he might make a viable VP candidate for either Cruz or Walker...

He's completely off my list...

First he gets bamboozled by McCain, being their spokesman for immigration.

Fail !!!

He does more flip flopping than a trained seal

Fail!!!

Now he toes the liberal line on gays...

Fail!!!

Three strikes and you are out...

Bye, Bye Marco...

I have an apparently inborn tendency to desire sexual intercourse with every attractive woman I meet. Should I try to act that out, or recognize that even inborn tendencies are subject to moral constraints?

The rise in the numbers who call themselves gay is because of young people who think it is cool now to be gay.

I hear that they MAPPED the Genome of Humans now.

Nobody found the “Billie Jean Gene”

Nobody is born gay, we don’t automatically pronounce S that way. The Bible was right.

OK. I stand corrected. Most people are in need of a savior. However there are some people out there who believe they have no need of a savior because they are their own God. They will not be with God forever by their choice because they have no use for Him. So ... we all really get what we want when you come down to it.

Rand Paul's immigration speech
...The Republican Party must embrace more legal immigration.

Unfortunately, like many of the major debates in Washington, immigration has become a stalemate-where both sides are imprisoned by their own rhetoric or attachment to sacred cows that prevent the possibility of a balanced solution.

Immigration Reform will not occur until Conservative Republicans, like myself, become part of the solution. I am here today to begin that conversation.

Let's start that conversation by acknowledging we aren't going to deport 12 million illegal immigrants.

If you wish to work, if you wish to live and work in America, then we will find a place for you...

This is where prudence, compassion and thrift all point us toward the same goal: bringing these workers out of the shadows and into being taxpaying members of society.

Imagine 12 million people who are already here coming out of the shadows to become new taxpayers.12 million more people assimilating into society. 12 million more people being productive contributors.

Rand Paul calls on conservatives to embrace immigration reform
Latinos, should be a natural constituency for the party, Paul argued, but "Republicans have pushed them away with harsh rhetoric over immigration." ...he would create a bipartisan panel to determine how many visas should be granted for workers already in the United States and those who might follow... [and the buried lead] "Imagine 12 million people who are already here coming out of the shadows to become new taxpayers...

[but he's not in favor of amnesty, snicker, definition of is is]
Rand Paul: Time for GOP to soften war stance
...by softening its edge on some volatile social issues and altering its image as the party always seemingly "eager to go to war... We do need to expand the party and grow the party and that does mean that we don't always all agree on every issue" ... the party needs to become more welcoming to individuals who disagree with basic Republican doctrine on emotional social issues such as gay marriage... "We're going to have to be a little hands off on some of these issues ... and get people into the party," Paul said.

does not believe sexual orientation is a choice for the “enormous majority of people.” —

So heteros, being the enormous majority, do not choose their sexual orientation?

This guy just phrased his answer like Obama does, giving each listener what he thinks he wants to hear.

It amazes how tone deaf these RINOs are.

They really DO believe the MSM.

Sticking one’s phallus into the anus of a person of the same sex sounds like a choice to me. Not a very healthy one either.

Liberals believe that gender, which is 100% definable through chromosomes and genitalia,is a choice, but homosexuality, which has no identifiable genetic indicator, is genetic and irreversible.
