Used to like Kornheiser and Wilbon as writers but when they got their show they were just plain obnoxious. Kornheiser had a radio show first and I listened in a couple of times and then turned it off as well. They jumped the shark when they went from print to radio and TV.

But, with that said, I could see (in this divided politically charged climate we find ourselves in) this as Kornheiser just making another one of his stupid jokes. The article doesn't make clear what was actually said or if that was it, maybe it's a context issue?. Either way, I am suggesting that maybe somebody is taking Tony Kornheiser (of all people) a little too seriously. He's a clown act. He's the sport jester. Nobody even takes his sports "knowledge" seriously.

Don't know, didn't see it, don't care to, breathe in, breathe out...

“If Rubio was not bright enough at age eight to recognize his father’s voice was not Don Shula’s, that might explain why he was foolish enough to be taken in by the Gang of Eight’s amnesty program.”

It was quite a display of rhetorical acrobatics to turn a liberal’s idiotic attack on one of our candidates and their childhood football memories into an amnesty rant. Bravo, my friend - even by Freeper standards, that was impressive.

Back in 1971, Kornheiser was “covering” high school football for Newsday, a daily paper on Long Island. Even then he struck me as a second-rate (or even third-rate) writer.

I hope someone mentions just what are his presidential qualities.

I’m no Tony K. fan, but he’s not trying to disqualify Rubio for being a dumb 8 year old—he’s trying to disqualify him for having apparently lied about his family experience yet again for political gain. And Rubio did that in his 40’s, not when he was 8.

As one of Bill Clinton’s own camp noted, he was an uncommonly good liar. Apparently Rubio is not.

ESPN went downhill after the ABC merger in 06. Now Olbermann is making things worse.

The “Hey, look at me, I’m a star” disease is infecting the jock-wannabes-turned-professional-spectators. Suddenly, these clods, resentful of the athletic successes of others, have decided that we need to hear their thoughts, when many of us don’t even want to hear their voices during games.

Rubio was using wit and humor when he told that story of his father from when he was a kid. He didn't expect anyone to believe the veracity of it because it was just enough absurd to not be real. It was a well-told joke.

But then this well-worn joke, this Tony CornHoser idiot, comes along and uses that great anecdotal story of a presidential candidate from when he was eight years old, as a reason the guy is not qualified to be president? WTF?!

Stick to sportscasting dimwit, because you suck at political analyzing.

[[ESPN host: What Rubio did when he was 8 years old should ‘automatically disqualify’ him as president]]

The IGNORANT statement this ‘host’ made should automatically disqualify him as a host for his blatant ignorance

I've seen a lot of PTI, and I usually like Kornheiser despite his pronounced liberal leanings. Remember this is a guy who's golfed with King Barack.

I've never heard him make a joke about King Barack or Queen Hillary. I have heard the assorted ESPN knuckleheads make jabs at a number of big name conservatives. He'll try to pass it off as a joke, but deep down he meant it. These guys mean all the jabs that take at conservatives.

I love it when sports talkers go into politics. It’s a never ending source of entertainment.

Kinda like Keith Olberman.

I’d watch Kornholio over Kornheiser any day— he’s more entertaining and makes more sense than Kornheiser...
