Seventy years after the end of the Holocaust, Ukraine’s parliament has extended official recognition to a nationalist militia that collaborated with the Germans during the Second World War.
According to a bill passed on Thursday, the Ukrainian Insurgent Army, an ultra-nationalist faction that sought to establish an independent Ukrainian state, would be eligible for official government commemoration, according to the Kiev Post.
While the group, an offshoot of the Organization of Ukrainian Nationalists, engaged in warfare against both the Soviet Union and the Nazis, it also collaborated with Germany and took part in actions against local Jews. The Simon Wiesenthal Center condemned Ukraine’s recognition of the group as well as a second bill that equated Communist and Nazi crimes.
“The passage of a ban on Nazism and Communism equates the most genocidal regime in human history with the regime which liberated Auschwitz and helped end the reign of terror of the Third Reich,” said Wiesenthal Center director for Eastern European Affairs Dr. Efraim Zuroff.
“In the same spirit the decision to honor local Nazi collaborators and grant them special benefits turns Hitler’s henchmen into heroes despite their active and zealous participation in the mass murder of innocent Jews
These attempts to rewrite history, which are prevalent throughout post-Communist Eastern Europe, can never erase the crimes committed by Nazi collaborators in these countries, and only proves that they clearly lack the Western values which they claim to have embraced upon their transition to democracy,” he added.

Remember, it wasn’t just Ukrainian that suffered starvation, but Southern Russia all the way to the ‘stans. It can be argued if it was deliberate, or if it was Central Planning incompetence, but as Maxim Litvinov said, “Food is a weapon”.
The end result was that the civil unrest in Southern Russia after the Revolution was largely extinguished. A “Starving man has no time for revolution.”
Russia is led by a man who was a part of the USSR’s KGB.
The greatest evil that the white world has ever produced, and the greatest threat to America that has ever existed was Russia, Putin was a Lt. colonel in it’s murder and torture agency, and later was head of it, as the FSB, and Putin is striving to threaten the world and America again.
The world and America doesn’t have to worry about the short lived and localized Nazis of so long ago, but they do have to worry about what has been a continuing and constant threat for generations, Russia.
The Article isn’t about Putin, it’s about Ukraine cooperating with people flying the flags of Nazi War Criminals.

You have consistently denied that Nazi’s are having any influence in Ukraine, or the coup government.
And yet, here we have the Simon Weisenthal Center, in an Israeli newspaper, calling it out, and the “Usual Suspects” all start screaming “PUTIN PROPAGANDA!!”
IF anything, this is a clear example of how the Uki Troll operates, shouting down ANYTHING that isn’t Kiev pre-approved. After a year of this, it’s quite clear what you’re agenda is, to anyone paying attention.
About the pro-Nazi Ukrainian militias:
Were these the “Vlasovites” that Solzhenitsyn wrote about in Gulag Archipelago? If so, they had chosen the lesser of two evils in becoming cobelligerents with the Nazis. Their goal was not nazification but the liberating of Ukraine from Stalinist rule.

Actually, historian Timothy Snyder gives a estimation of about 2.3 million dead due to famine and related causes in the Ukraine. Still a lot of victims.

2. Every time you have been invited to list the NAZI Deputies serving in the Verhovna Rada you have failed to respond with such a list, much less produce a list of such having a majority or even a serious plurality of seats in that parliament.
3. You are once again repeating the lie and Russian disinformation falsely claiming a coup occurred. Yanukovych resigned, abandoned, and fled from his office to escape prosecution for his many capital crimes.

Then you play the hypocrite by overplaying the role of the NAZI-like followers in Ukrainian society while refusing to acknowledge the role of the far larger Russian NAZI movements past and present who are slaughtering Ukrainians, Georgians, and so many other non-Russian people. Where have you expressed your similar outrage over the Russian Government’s acknowledgement of the service of Russia’s far larger neo-Nazi militia?
