Just because a jar is stuck there in my face doesn't entitle any of you register jockeys to more of my money.

That's true, but if you'd ever worked in a Chipotle, you might have a different attitude if you were flush.

I always tip a buck at pizza places if they're quick, and have a chipper attitude, because I was on the other side of that counter many years ago. It makes their day a little brighter, knowing that someone appreciates what they do, and it's no skin off my nose.

I tip waiters, fairly generously, unless I’ve received lousy service.

But I’ve never tipped counter staff. Just like I don’t tip the person who takes my money when I eat at a self-serve buffet.

I tip for service. And taking my money and sticking it in the register is not service.

So, as much as I disagree with Hillary Clinton on pretty much everything, I can’t see that accusing her of not stuffing a dollar into the tip jar is much of an attack against her.

It's not meant as a matter of high principle, political or otherwise. It's just a fact of life. If you're rich and powerful, and you can't spare a buck for the little guy, people will see you in a poor light.

Saw a story last week dissing LeBron James for being a lousy tipper. I came away with a worse opinion of the man.

The employees of fast food places around where I live are not ever 'chipper' and almost all employees are brown or black. And that's in fast food places in white neighborhoods.

I would understand if blacks felt uncomfortable going into a fast food place in a black community where every employee was white.

I don't understand why fast food places don't understand we might feel the same way... mix it up - integrate but don't switch to 'all black segregation'... feels hostile.

Especially for a Democrat, a tribune of the “little people.”

The check is twenty bucks? You leave a fiver in the tip jar. Then people remember you as “generous,” “concerned,” “authentic.” Leave nothing in the tip jar, and people remember you as a cheapskate.

The wench is planning on raising $2.5 billion for this campaign! She's worried about a couple of bucks in a tip jar??

She may just be too stupid to get elected.
