There needs to be a massive full scale investigation, that continues into the next presidency. If he was beat up, then we have proof of his corruption. Maybe President Cruz will uncover this.

You are correct. Normally, the law does not provide for protection of a Senate Majority Leader. But the President has the authority to direct protection to anyone who he deems requires it. Do we know that this was not the case with Harry?

And only a very close friend or family member would be able to get close enough to him (security detail) to do the damage. This man is loathed by many so I have to assume security is fairly robust.

Either it wasn’t him, or he used something other than his hands. But that also would likely point to someone else since family members almost always use their hands during family violence, it has to do with the personal nature of the attack.
