If you liked John McCain, you will love Marco Rubio.

So is he going to get the La Raza endorsement or are we going to be told he’s “not Hispanic enough”?

I haven’t been this excited since I found a couple of quarters under the couch cushions.

He’s running to dilute the opposition to Jeb’s coronation.

Rubio cannot be Jeb’s running mate because they are both from the same state.

Rubio cannot be Jeb’s running mate because they are both from the same state. Is this true? By law?

Yup, he’s a blocker for Bush, same as Graham and probably Huckabee, too. The RNC has almost perfected nominating the designated loser, see Romney and McCain.

Exactly.

Rubio cannot be Jeb’s running mate because they are both from the same state.

Good point, forgot that. I wonder whether they can get around this by having a residence in another state, as Cheney did in 2000.

Yup, he’s a blocker for Bush, same as Graham and probably Huckabee, too. The RNC has almost perfected nominating the designated loser, see Romney and McCain.

When Pat Buchanan ran in 1992 and 1996, making some headway with conservative voters against Bush and Dole, the RNC was quick to recruit a small army of mostly no-names to dilute the anti-establishment vote (people like Alan Keyes, etc). They're doing the exact same thing now with faux-conservative candidates like Rubio. None of them will get enough votes to stand a chance, but they'll split the right wing vote just enough to guarantee another Bush coronation.

Rubio’s campaign won’t go very far. He’s probably just in it with the hope of being Jeb’s running mate.

Why would you need two Hispanics on the ticket?

NO way would I ever vote for another liberal idiot that wants to give foreigners more of my tax money by granting them food stamps, free housing, disability pay (for not speaking English, kid you not!) , etc, etc, etc.

We all pay more in taxes that the majority of people earn in this country. More than 51% of people present in this country (many not even citizens) receive money from Uncle Sugar. About half of Adults earn a living at all.

Allahpundit at Hotair has the perfect description of Rubio:

“He really is unique. Who else in the field combines John McCain’s questionable foreign policy and immigration instincts with Barack Obama’s youthful lack of experience?”

It’s complicated.

See U.S. Const., art. II, § 1.

https://www.law.cornell.edu/constitution/articleii

“The electors shall meet in their respective states, and vote by ballot for two persons, of whom one at least shall not be an inhabitant of the same state with themselves.”

Although the running mates could technically be from the same state, the electors from that state could only vote for one of them in that instance.

This could trigger a situation where the President came from one party but the Vice President came from the other party because the electors couldn’t vote for both of them. I doubt either the GOPe or the Democrats would risk that.
