DENVER – Scientists are working to pinpoint the source of a giant mass of methane hanging over the southwestern U.S., which a study found to be the country's largest concentration of the greenhouse gas.
The report that revealed the methane hot spot over the Four Corners region — where Colorado, New Mexico, Utah and Arizona meet — was released last year.

I remember that. I think the answer was determined back then, although I don’t remember exactly what it was.

There are a lot of cows out there, just not a lot of cows per square mile. My old stomping grounds.
BTW, I had more than one client show me how they could light the water in their sink. This was long before fracking.
One guy collected the gas and used it to cook on. He didn’t have enough volume to heat his house with, though.

If only there was some way to safely harvest this methane and to make productive use out of it. Oh well, this is sage grouse territory now, we’ll just have to let the birds figure out something to do with it.
