'Citizens, you will elect me!' Hillary Clinton gets skewered by SNL as she prepares to launch....

Saturday Night Live poked fun at Hillary Clinton just hours before she is set to announce she is running for president, by mocking her decision to tell the world via social media.

The pair decide to record a cellphone video of the Democrat for her campaign launch in a bid to make her come across as soft and approachable, following concerns she will not be able to relate to ordinary voters.

During the scene, which includes a cameo from her husband Bill, they insist her second run at the White House will be about the people and not centered around her.

But, despite desperate attempts to not be self-centered, Clinton seems incapable of talking about anyone but herself and brushes off her potential competitors.

On her first try at recording the video she screams in a dictatorial manner: 'Citizens, you will elect me. I will be your leader.'

For the second attempt, they try to get Clinton to stop saying 'I' or her name, but she also fails immediately.

'Hello, 'tis I, Hillary Clinton,' she says.

The two women are then joined by Bill Clinton (Darrel Hammond), who sneaks up behind his wife as she is filming.

He says how grateful he is that camera phones did not exist when he was president - because he would probably be in jail if they were.

From there they decide to make talk about how difficult the election will be, and the tough challenges Clinton will face from other Democrats.

She starts talking about potential rival Martin O'Malley, the former Maryland governor, but the starts laughing, saying: 'He sounds like a Simpsons character.'

Her husband makes a second appearance at this point with his saxophone, playing the theme tune to The Simpsons and revealing that he will be his wife's Vice President.

There has been plenty of anti-Obama animosity at SNL the last 2 or 3 years...

They did skits about him for the last year or so, maybe.

But 2 or 3 years back would be the 2012 election, and they weren't making fun of him then.

At least that's the impression I get from the Internet.

They may have been telling jokes about him all along, but jokes in the fake news segment never pack the punch of sketches, particularly at the beginning of the show.

Also, I wouldn't necessarily define any of this as "animosity."

They made a lot of fun of Bill Clinton, but I never got the feeling they disliked him.

I want her to run.
I want her to be on that stage, and get the hecklers, the throwers, etc.
I want to see members of CAIR deride her.
I want to see her destroyed in any debate, with a democrat or a republican.
I want her to run so hard, that she ceases to exist at center stage, in mid-angry sentence, of apoplexy!!
By having held office, she already has her spot guaranteed in some federal cemetery.

"What did Hewitt say?"

From NBC/RCP website / transcript:

HUGH HEWITT, RADIO TALK SHOW HOST:

"Well, no, not with Hillary. That was a little surreal when the mayor said she'd been thoroughly vetted. That was the talking point that they'd asked him to make sure they got out there. Because of course she hadn't been thoroughly vetted. Brent Budowsky calling her the new Nixon, reminded me this is like a New Coke moment as well."

"It's actually like a Weekend At Bernie's moment. I think that they're afraid that they have a candidate that they have to prop up from now until November of '16. There isn't any substance, there isn't any charisma, and most of all she's not trustworthy. And that's what those polls you showed, the Quinnipiac. She fails on the trustworthy question again and again. "

I literally cannot stand the sight of this woman or tolerate the sound of her voice.

Be careful what you wish for. My wife said Obama would be elected. She was right. She said he would be re-elected. I scoffed at that. So did Dick Morris.(remember him?). She was right again. She said today “She’ll get in. Stupid women will vote for her’’. My wife is two for two so far. I’d hate for her to be three out of three. The country won’t survive it.

Bill is Constitutionally prohibited from running for VP.

"Hillary Clinton gets skewered by SNL"

BS!

SNL's skit did not "skewer" HiLIARy!!" It's only being skewered if HiLIARy is mocked in a skit that shows her to be the lying, murdering traitor she is.

True. There were off and on moments if I recall from 2009/2010 but nothing consistent until right before Obamacare and even more so last year starting with Immigration reform. He is not made to be a vapid fool and the show still leans left of course, they and the audience just got tired of covering for him.

That announcement was 100000 times better than Hillary’s.

They will skewer her personality. But they would never hurt the Dems. They won’t mention Benghazi except maybe to say the word. They won’t explain what happened there.

Yes, no one ineligible to be elected President can be elected Vice President.

Bill Buckley forgot that in 1964 when he suggested that Barry Goldwater pick Ike as his VP candidate.

"Fox & Friends" showed part of the skit this morning. Hillary rejects the idea of Bill being her VP--she's going to be her own VP.

The craven, selfish, talentless, cold fish skewer was plenty.

Far more than they generally target any Democrat.
