Sen. Marco Rubio's condition: Iran should recognize Israel in nuke deal
Politico ^ | 04/11/2015 | By BURGESS EVERETT

Sen. Marco Rubio wants to make Iran recognize Israel’s right to exist as a condition of any nuclear agreement with Tehran.

The Florida Republican has floated his proposal as a possible amendment to a Senate bill written by Senate Foreign Relations Chairman Bob Corker (R-Tenn.) that would allow Congress to disapprove of any deal that the United States and world powers strike with Iran, sources familiar with the matter said.

Corker’s bill will be voted on in committee on Tuesday and senators like Rubio are proposing major alterations to the bill as written.

Rubio’s office declined to discuss the specific changes the presidential hopeful is seeking but made clear he is seeking to revise the bill with “several amendments.”

He "reserves the opportunity to call up any of these amendments for a vote with the goals of strengthening the bill, advancing U.S. interests and making sure the American people’s voices are heard on the future of Iran’s nuclear program," a spokeswoman said.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has said any nuclear agreement must include “clear and unambiguous Iranian recognition of Israel’s right to exist.” Rubio isn’t alone in seeking revisions. Sen. Ron Johnson (R-Wis.) has suggested that Corker’s bill be altered to treat the agreement with Iran like a treaty, requiring two-thirds ratification by the Senate. If they pass in the narrowly divided committee, either amendment could stifle Democratic support for the bill, and dash Corker’s hopes of winning a veto-proof majority.

Do none of these idiots understand that already have the power to approve or reject the deal? Just because Obama says they can’t, doesn’t mean he overrides the law. They just need to stand up for what they already have.

That of course would take guts....something that is in short supply in the GOP.

One benefit of Rubio giving up his Senate seat to run for President is we will be rid of that traitor after he drops out. Why would anyone want to give him more knives when he has stabbed us in the back already with his Gang of Amnesty?

McCain, Flake and Graham need to go as well.

This is stupid. Why are we even sitting down and talking to Iran anyway?

Once again, Republicans accept the Left's premise.

There should be no agreement. Iran is our enemy and we do not negotiate with the enemy.

Rubio is proving once again he is not presidential material.

Iran should recognize Israel in nuke deal

Iran to Rubio, "No."

Obama to Iran, "OK, let's move on."

That is never going to happen, naive Marco.

Iran and ISIS and most Islamist terror groups have the complete destruction of Israel and the USA as their major goals.

Even if the right to exist were written into the agreement, Iran would ignore it, and who is going to enforce it?

“Sen. Marco Rubio wants to make Iran recognize Israel’s right to exist as a condition of any nuclear agreement with Tehran.”

Possibility: What if Iran does recognize Israel’s right to exist just as a ploy? Sort of like Hitler making a non-aggression pact with Russia before the War. Why does anyone trust Iran’s word on anything?

Precisely. Why make an agreement with a Terrorist Country whom we already know has broken their word on every previous deal. Rubio is trying to lend legitimacy to these negotiations by insisting Iran recognize Israel. It ain’t gonna happen and even if it did it would be meaningless. Iran still intends to destroy both Israel and the U.S. so why pretend otherwise?

“Iran should recognize Israel in nuke deal”...

Never going to happen under odumbo’s watch. Like some already stated, “They will when Israel drops the big one on them.”

Of course.

Iran: We recognize Israel's right to exist as a sovereign country and its right to be secure withing it's borders from outside aggression.

(In the meantime we will plan to wipe Israel off the earth, as we have so often stated.
Looks like 3 medium sized atomic bombs will accommpolish that,

We don't have to worry about us dying in a retaliatory attack, since we will be doing what Allah wants done, and we will get a heavenly reward.
The Infidels (Jews) will go to hell and we will go to heaven.) -Tom

Actually, Rubio is right. Iran is NEVER going to recognize Israel, and laying this condition down effectively kills the deal.
