Medical innovation means cancer is no longer a death sentence

Nearly everyone is thinking about cancer these days thanks to the Ken Burns film on PBS, “Cancer: The Emperor of All Maladies.” All of us, including Mr. Burns himself, who as a child lost his mother to cancer, know a family member or a close friend who has died of the Killer C.

The film tells us the magnitude of the murderous disease we are up against: “Cancer is a worldwide scourge. The fastest-growing disease on earth. By 2030, there will be as many as 22 million cases worldwide. Cancer afflicts 1.7 million Americans each year and kills 600,000 of them. More will die from cancer over the next two years than died in combat in all the wars the United States has ever fought combined.”

That’s terribly true, but it hides the good news, which doesn’t get enough play in this film. That is the astonishing progress that has been made in diagnosing and treating cancer. No, there isn’t a cure. But we are getting there, and the treatments since Brian Piccolo’s famous bout with cancer nearly a half-century ago are nearly miraculous. In 20 years, 1.5 million lives have been saved because of medical know-how and highly effective new treatments.

No mention was made of drugs that cause cancer.

The Osteoporosis drug Foreto is Black Box labeled for Bone Cancer. Besides the FDA flagging of the drug for other health issues. In fact ALL OP drugs are FDA FLAGGED for those health issues.

Then there are the exceptions to the ‘rules’. My 2 aunts married 2 brothers, the MALE line carried the Breast Cancer gene. Thus when they had daughters they passed that gene to them, and they passed it hit and miss to their daughters and will pass hit and miss onto their daughters. They all go for genetic testing now. Breast Cancer does NOT run on our Grandmother’s or Grandfather’s side of the family. There were 6 girls. None of them developed Breast Cancer, but the daughters of the 2 who married brothers did hit and miss depending on the genetics each received from their fathers.

You forgot Florine and other chems we commonly use today we didn’t 30 yrs ago.

St Jude as been one of the biggest leader in cancer fighting we have seen.

More targeted treatments, are needed, rather than just the wide use of chemo or radiation. And each person needs their own attack plan as per their type of cancer.

First live in a medical cannabis state, than it's just down the street around the corner in a small shop. If you put your hope of being healed from cancer in the hand of big drug company's go home and die. There is a way out, you must find it yourself. Faith, clean food, clean water, no stress, no cell phone and open your mind to other ways than big drug company's.

I know a guy who is happy to have his insurance company pay $300 per day for drugs in order to increase his five year survival chances from 50% to 85%.

I don't think he has the same negative view of drug companies that you have. The drug he is taking will lose patent protection in July and other companies are lining up to manufacture a life-prolonging drug in high demand.

I do hope that or another treatment works 100% for your wife. I will pray for her this morning for full healing.

One of the points I was making though is there are no new miraculous treatments for cancer that are being used by large numbers of cancer patients therefore new treatments have not resulted in successful results in large numbers as the article claims. The article does not pass the smell test.

More people are being careful what they put into and on their bodies because of the increased understanding of toxicity and how important our immune system is and how to prevent disease from ever getting a foothold in ones body.

I have been following how Endocannabinoids from Medical Cannabis oil is showing positive results for large numbers of patients using that and also reports on intravenous Vitamin C treatments for cancer.

Also there have been good results in a Mayo clinic study on EGCG, the green tea extract.

Cantron (if taken exactly as directed) is the most powerful anti-oxidant on the planet as far as I know. Sugar feeds cancer is what I have been told.

I don’t know the medical name. They are in clinical trials where the patient has no other options. But the key thing is that the patient donates their cells, the cells are modified and multiplied, then are reinfused into the patient.
