Fact Checkers Aren’t Going to Like What Ted Cruz Had to Say About Them
the blaze ^ | 4/9/15 | Pete Kasperowicz

Posted on 04/09/2015 5:21:36 PM PDT by Nachum

Sen. Ted Cruz (R-Texas) on Thursday accused left-leaning reporters and editors of practicing a new brand of “yellow journalism” in the form of fact check articles, which he said purport to catch politicians stretching the truth, but instead tend to advance the Democratic agenda.

Cruz, who is running for president in 2016, sat down with CNBC for an interview, and was asked about his joke that the U.S. should send 125,000 IRS agents to the border. CNBC reporter John Harwood host pointed out that there are only 25,000 IRS agents, and the rest are just IRS workers.

Harwood also asked why people should trust Cruz when he says Obamacare is killing jobs, when the U.S. has been adding jobs “at a very healthy clip.”

Cruz replied by saying the IRS line is one he uses as a joke on the campaign trail, and said left-leaning reporters have been reduced to fact checking jokes he makes.

“There is a game that is played by left-wing editorial writers,” Cruz said. “It’s this new species of yellow journalism called PolitiFact. Colloquially I was referring to all the employees as agents.”

“That particular stat is in a joke I used,” he added. “So, they’re literally fact-checking a joke. I say that explicitly tongue in cheek.”

Why does Harwood say, “We’re adding jobs . . . “ There is no “We” for a reporter. He is just a reporter.

Exactly so!

I’m happy to defend Rand unless or up until he goes after Ted Cruz.

That is the way I see it, too. The R’s are going to get the treatment, but I don’t know yet if the media wants to see two overweights like Jeb Bush and Hillary Clinton run.

Do you think so?

The R media (FOX) seem to be working the ropes for Jeb— at least Dana Perino. She seems to expect real people, who are first term senators and basically still outsiders, to be as slick and packaged, combed, groomed and perfected as Hillary, with her team of con artists to re-present her, and as Jeb Bush will likely be, with a machine full of handlers. I resent that.

I like Rand being quirky and willing to blast Hillary as he has now for months, giving her both barrels, EARLY.

And TED! My gosh, when he was talking turkey to Harwood, he was right on, and sounded like Lizzy Warren! This means he can get some crossover votes facing off against Obama economics. Warren just targets Wall Street, but even she has blasted Obama for continuing tax loop holes for the “billionaires”, while at the same time financially crushing kids trying to get a college education with debt to the government.

Republicans are waking up to the fact that Big Business and the Chamber of Commerce are out of hand with the devastating income gap. Cruz has it right and knows who’s to blame. Bark Obama.

Yes, I dread that. That’s when it will get nasty out there.
Ted is saying he isn’t going to get into that personal attack lane, and also, as publically considerate as he has been toward Rand, and everyone else, it may be a backfire on them if they get too cutting with Cruz. The contrast between them will speak for itself. Anyway, I should hope it would. :)

Sure good to see you, onyx. I know it isn’t easy, but your strength is starting to show again. Love, R

I say what I say because I saw what the media did to Duncan Hunter in 2008, and Gingrich in 2012 (not that Gingrich was the best candidate). Both Hunter and Gingrich would challenge the media quislings on the premise and substance of their questions. Eventually they were ignored. T

When the debates rolled around they began to not invite those whom they determined to be “second tier” candidates like Hunter, and later Gingrich in 2012.

That’s how they will do it. CNN or ABC or PBS decides who they are going to invite to their debate and the fools will file in. And once that “first tier” debate happens it’s over for the others. And those “others” are the conservatives. So expect this to happen again to the letter.

Both Cruz and Paul will be in tossed into the second tier category as quickly as is possible.

Once he’s been cast into the dustbin of history (in the mind of the media) they will then ignore him. He simply will not be able to gain any traction in the preferred narrative no matter what he does.

There is now ZERO chance of that happening. Too late. Ted has too much name recognition now and far too much money to be ignored!

Cruz? Not a chance!

I disagree with Cruz especially and to some extent Rand Paul. I can see that happening to Gov Walker when he decides to run but Cruz is a brilliant orator and debater. Once he minces those morons the Dems throw out there it’s game over.

Pragmatically speaking there is a very real chance that Cruz could easily be marginalized. The mediots will simply refuse to cover him in any way. He may have 31 million to spend, there is no compulsion for the media to take his money and run his adverts.

I like Cruz, but the media is still calling the shots. They are the gatekeepers, the are covering all of the doors. If the journ-0-lists decide to stifle Cruz then it will be Cruz shouting from down the hallway, last door on the right.

Don’t get me wrong, I hope that Cruz does well, but expect a near media blackout on Cruz as Bush and others get in the race. Remember, they may not be able outwit him, but they can ignore him.

All it takes is once for Cruz to make mincemeat out of one of them, and that will be it for him. They will not tolerate being made fools of. It started yesterday with Rand Paul, and that was pretty timid. Its not like he ripped Savannah the Porn-Star to ribbons, yet she was very combative, Paul was portrayed as downright mean. Do you expect to see Rand Paul on the Toady show again anytime soon? I don’t. Is Ted Cruz going to get an invite from Savannah? Unless there is a way to make him look (foolish/liar/mean/racist/sexist) there is no reason to have him come there.

We should be mentally prepared for the coming psy-op.

Cruz is sending out the early warning signs that they thought Newt was too direct with them in the debates, well wait until you see what I have in store for you as I expose you on national TV for the twerps that you are.

Did Obama have any accomplishments by the time he was elected president? No.

So true, even to today we still don’t know “ who” he really is.

So far, Cruz has not done the drive-by democRAT media.

I’m sure that he will at some point, and kudos to Rand Paul for being first to tussle with a democRAT operative.

I do suspect that the mediots like Savannah the Porn Star will be lying in wait for him, with some sort of setup. Their problem with him is they know Cruz was a debate champ etc. So they know they need to bring their “A” game, and have everything set up for their attack in order for it to work. Nothing will be left to chance with Cruz.

We shall see how it works out. I am a supporter, but am not going to get too invested in his candidacy just yet. There is a long row to hoe, and you know the long knives are out for him. He is the one guy that scares the crap out of them and he must be destroyed at all costs. Whether they succeed? Time will tell.
