--- COLORADO: Paul 44 - Clinton 41 IOWA: Paul 43 - Clinton 42 VIRGINIA: Clinton 47 - Paul 43 Former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton's lead is wilting against leading Republican presidential candidates in three critical swing states, Colorado, Iowa and Virginia, and she finds herself in a close race with U.S. Sen. Rand Paul of Kentucky in each state, according to a Quinnipiac University Swing State Poll released today. In head-to-head matchups, every Republican candidate effectively ties her in Colorado and almost all Republicans effectively tie her in Iowa.

Hillary wants to change her name to “Bill Clinton”.

Hillary’s not truthful or trustworthy - and that counts against women more...

O'Malley is going to take the nomination...

In the world of....It's all about "looks" and the Women's vote. Just ask Bubba.

And look at the "swooning" by black women. I don't think we've ever had the stats on how many black women voted in the whole of the black vote.

And the white women....they simply obey....election after election. Kinda like the "x" of an illiterate person.

I would not say that it is totally meaningless. Of course it can't predict who is going to win, but you still can see trends.

If at this point Hillary, who is far better known than any of the GOP Candidates, is behind many of them in many states it does not bode well for her.

It's a truism that early polls are dominated by those with the best known names. Likewise the fact that Bush isn't the leader among the GOPers is not a good thing for him. You would expect that he is far ahead of people like Rand and Cruz, but in fact he's behind them.

Finally, Rand Paul has nice favorability ratings. Ted Cruz has some problems there (not surprising given the non-stop demonization he's had from the MSM) and Hillary has big problems with favorability, and little room for improvement because the "don't know" category is pretty small. People have made up their minds about her, and a whole lot don't like her.

I think those are all meaningful data points from the survey.

If the apple doesn't fall far from the tree and the supporters of the tree don't fall far from the apple, it is likely that the Paulistas will have a very good turnout in caucus states like Iowa and small open primary states like New Hampshire.

Elsewhere and especially in the November general election, then not so much.

I think you are right.
It’s not good to start the season with a couple of +6 Obama states.

And if I made the schedule, there’d be no blue wall states in the first 20 or so.

Quinnipiac is a lefty pollster

Not bad for a new small Catholic College. Many faculty members only moderately lefty. Sort of Pio Nono/Trotsky/Catholic Worker/Dorothy Day/Chrissie Matthews types, not hardened Stalinists. Of course, you would be found guilty, but you might get a trial before they shoot you, or send you to a Gulag.

Saca, the fact that O'Malley is a worthless toad will not affect his chances. Entirely negative history from our POV, but given the Baltimore tradition of voter participation, O'Malley can count on at least 200 Million votes... from Maryland!

Considers himself a Kennedy Reincarnate. Of course, he also considers himself a musician. Team him up with an African-American woman as running mate ... we got some trouble there. He could sell well to the tattooed fatties in the Wal-Mart parking lot and the gibsmedats.

Hillary? Nah.

If I were a candidate, would I want to be on top or bottom even in meaningless polls? You bet your bippy I want to be on top in every poll, meaningful and meaningless.

O’Malley is very good in TV interviews, always has good comebacks at gotcha questions.

Which is not my point at all. Of course a candidate would rather be on top - but that doesn’t change the fact that it’s meaningless. I was not talking to candidates. I am talking to Freepers who think these polls are any indication of where the race will end up. They almost never are.
