Report: The SuperPAC running ads against Rand Paul has ties to “Bush World
Rare Politics ^ | 4-7-2015 | Kevin Boyd

Posted on 04/08/2015 11:49:27 AM PDT by Darren McCarty

As Rare and other news outlets have reported, a SuperPAC has been running ads against Rand Paul tying his foreign policy positions to President Obama. A new report reveals who some of the people behind the ads are, and they have ties to one of the major Republican candidates likely to enter the presidential race.

Matt Flynn of Breitbart News reports that the consultants who make up Foundation for a Secure and Prosperous America have extensive ties to the Bush family. Flynn reports that many of these people also have ties to Karl Rove and other GOP establishment figures.

According to the Times, Black Rock Group, a public affairs firm, is “advising” the new Super PAC. Black Rock is yet another GOP consulting firm housed at 66 Canal Street in Alexandria, VA, the Republican party establishment’s outpost across the river from DC. The firm is run by Carl Forti and Brian Jones, longtime operatives in Bush World.

Forti is currently political director of American Crossroads, the GOP establishment Super PAC guided by former Bush political guru Karl Rove. Jones has had leading campaign rolls with Bush, John McCain and Mitt Romney. Jones has extensive ties with mainstream media outlets, which helps explain why the New York Times is breaking a story about a GOP nomination contest.

Republicans, after all, are very adept at using the mainstream media to attack other Republicans.

The titular head of the Super PAC attacking Rand is Rick Reed, a key GOP strategist for the “Swift Boat” campaign against John Kerry more than a decade ago. Reed is largely retired from political campaigns, but seems prepared to suit up again when Bush World calls.

The circlar firing squad is starting already with the Rove playbook. The Rove playbook is to be brutal with Republicans and use kid gloves on demoncrats to avoid scaring soccer moms. It didn't work. It doesn't work. It won't work in the future. It leads to a democrat win. Bush lost the popular vote the first time and was lucky his opponents were Gore and Kerry. Kerry lost due to the swift boats. Rove wasted 200 million.

I don't always agree with Rand, but I've said that I will only attack one person before the primary is over. That person is Jeb Bush. I will not participate in circular firing squads and attacks against others except to call out the attacker for being an idiot by helping Bush.

Paul isn’t a serious candidate anyway, he should be driven out early.

Just like Westworld. It even includes the BushBots.
Hey, Rove can play the part of Yule Brenner and doesn’t have to shave his head.

“Foundation for a Secure and Prosperous America have extensive ties to the Bush family. Flynn reports that many of these people also have ties to Karl Rove and other GOP establishment figures.”

Just a matter of time before The NeoCon Empire Strikes Back against Cruz, too. Cruz has gone on record that he is against long foreign occupations and nation building.

I don’t think the Bushes/Roves/NeoCons are going to win this one.

So you think that Jim Robinson and Ted Cruz are “GOP establishment scum”?

What is your excuse for wanting such a flake over Ted Cruz and to move the party left?

Cruz and Robinson aren’t funding attacks on Rand Paul, your buddies Bush and Graham are.

Again, whats your excuse?

Are you drunk?

I oppose Paul, Jim Robinson opposes Paul, Ted Cruz opposes Paul, and this is freerepublic, and we conservative freepers oppose Paul.

What is your excuse for supporting Paul and wanting to move the GOP left and defeat Ted Cruz?

LOL, a liberal troll pushing Rand Paul on us.

To: Starstruck
Yup. Only he wants to adapt, evolve and advance the homo agenda and open borders more than the older democrats were able to do. Sorry, young Turk Rand. Young comrade Obama beat you to it. Forward!

This should start to give people a clue as to who the real anti-Bush candidate/s is/are, and which ones are the phony stalking horses who are just there to divide the anti-Bush vote.

Will Karl Rove ever attack Cruz? Walker? Graham? If the answer remains “no”... then what does that tell us?

I'm leaning between Cruz and Walker, but there are things I like about Rand Paul. The problem is if one of the better candidates stumble, we need someone better than Bush who is the worst of all choices. By tearing down the other candidates, it is more likely we'll get Bush by default just like what happened in 2012 with Romney.

The circular firing squad kills us every time, and Bush benefits from it.

Rove has recently bashed Cruz and Walker.

I don't think he's said anything about Graham.

There is no circular firing squad involved, conservatives oppose Rand Paul.

The only people who want Rand Paul in, are the ones who support him.

Aww...i guess my calling Jebbie and his crew 'establishment scum' really got under your skin didn't it?

The simple fact is that Paul's candidacy will hurt Bush in states with open primaries, states the establishment favorite son needs to beat back a conservative challenge.

Mark Levin used the opening portion of his show yesterday to talk about this situation TheRightScoop ...I suggest you take a listen.

OTOH Ted Cruz welcomed his fellow Senator into the race. “Rand is a good friend, and we have worked side by side on many issues,” he said. “I respect his talent, his passion, and the work he has done for Kentuckians and Americans in the U.S. Senate.” Breitbart

So once again you've filled your diaper on this one Ansel2. Cruz isn't attacking Paul for entering the race, establishment scum like Karl Rove Jeb Bush and yourself are.

Rand Paul is a demagogue and a Democrat in all but name.
Rand Paul On Shutdown: "Even Though It Appeared I Was Participating In It, It Was A Dumb Idea"
I said throughout the whole battle that shutting down the government was a dumb idea. Even though it did appear as if I was participating in it, I said it was a dumb idea. And the reason I voted for it, though, is that it's a conundrum. Here's the conundrum. We have a $17 trillion debt and people at home tell me you can't give the president a blank check. We just can't keep raising the debt ceiling without conditions. So unconditionally raising the debt ceiling, nobody at home wants me to vote for that and I can't vote for that. But the conundrum is if I don't we do approach these deadlines. So there is an impasse. In 2011, though, we had this impasse and the president did negotiate. We got the sequester. If we were to extend the sequester from discretionary spending to all the entitlements we would actually fix our problem within a few years.

Rand Paul: Time for GOP to soften war stance
...by softening its edge on some volatile social issues and altering its image as the party always seemingly "eager to go to war... We do need to expand the party and grow the party and that does mean that we don't always all agree on every issue" ... the party needs to become more welcoming to individuals who disagree with basic Republican doctrine on emotional social issues such as gay marriage... "We're going to have to be a little hands off on some of these issues ... and get people into the party," Paul said.

Rand Paul's immigration speech
...The Republican Party must embrace more legal immigration.

Unfortunately, like many of the major debates in Washington, immigration has become a stalemate-where both sides are imprisoned by their own rhetoric or attachment to sacred cows that prevent the possibility of a balanced solution.

Immigration Reform will not occur until Conservative Republicans, like myself, become part of the solution. I am here today to begin that conversation.

Let's start that conversation by acknowledging we aren't going to deport 12 million illegal immigrants.

If you wish to work, if you wish to live and work in America, then we will find a place for you...

This is where prudence, compassion and thrift all point us toward the same goal: bringing these workers out of the shadows and into being taxpaying members of society.

Imagine 12 million people who are already here coming out of the shadows to become new taxpayers.12 million more people assimilating into society. 12 million more people being productive contributors.

Rand Paul calls on conservatives to embrace immigration reform
Latinos, should be a natural constituency for the party, Paul argued, but "Republicans have pushed them away with harsh rhetoric over immigration." ...he would create a bipartisan panel to determine how many visas should be granted for workers already in the United States and those who might follow... [and the buried lead] "Imagine 12 million people who are already here coming out of the shadows to become new taxpayers...
