Police in Texas have launched an investigation after online video surfaced showing a Hunt County Sheriff’s officer strike an Air Force veteran who was nine months pregnant last month.

Footage shows two deputies restrain Deanna Robinson during the March 4th incident as they accompanied Child Protective Services to her parents’ home to remove the 38-year-old’s 18-month-old son Landry over allegations of of abuse.

Robinson can be heard shouting that she is pregnant before a deputy is seen at the end of the video hitting her.

Robinson told WFAA that the accusations of child abuse stem from a March 1st incident when she and he husband got into a shoving match while she held her son. Robinson said she went to stay with her parents afterwards to let things settle down. A teacher at her nine-year-old stepson’s school, however, learned of the incident and contacted CPS.

On March 3rd, CPS and law enforcement personnel showed up at her door and knocked, Robinson told WFAA.

“He said, ‘We’re here to remove your son,’” Robinson said. “I said, ‘Nobody is touching my kid without a court order or a warrant.’”

According to the 38-year-old mother, officers failed to show her the documents and forced themselves into her home.

“I’m positioning myself in front of my child as the officers are screaming, ‘There’s the kid. Grab him,’” she told WFAA.

Iatrogenic-death stories generally don’t make the papers.

You’ll have to post them as Vanities.

I have mixed feelings about CPS. My dealings with them were more or less positive because they removed my GS from his parents and put him in my custody. I’m now a permanent guardian. I believe that was necessary.

That said, the CPS agent showed up at my son and dil’s door with an officer and more or less pushed into the place. CPS says the officer is for their protection. It seems to be they are there to be muscle to enforce their will.

I’m not a fan of Miranda warnings, but CPS could use a required warning when they show up at your door.

“I’m from CPS. You have rights. You have the right to an attorney, and to have your attorney present during any questioning. Without cause, I cannot enter your home without permission. If I do enter your home, everything I see or hear will be used as evidence against you. In most cases, the purpose of this visit is to acquire enough evidence to remove your child. Do I have your permission to enter your home for the purposes of acquiring evidence to remove your child from your custody?”

That would at least be informing people of the actual reason for a CPS home visit with officer in tow. The officer wouldn’t be there if they didn’t intend to remove. CPS would say such a warning would completely undermine their ability to investigate. When your ability to investigate an allegation turns on whether people understand and stand up for their rights, you need another method of investigation.

If one looks back on history and ever wonders, "how could Germany have allowed the rise of Naziism and the Gestapo"

As a young man I used to wonder how the Germans let Hitler in. Not any more. I see it every day.

Today, some people are waking up to the Nazification of the police. It will end in fire.

They’ll break the door down, regardless.

If you don't live in Oklahoma, you could barricade the door. LOL! :)

This sort of stuff is happening all too often these dayz.

Police see all citizens as potential threats and treat folks like criminals.

They are trained to use overwhelming force and it translates into ALL situations regardless of the level of threat against them.

Simply asking a question, moving a hand, turning your head could earn you a face plant on the concrete.

The latest incident of the cop firing 8 shots at the fella running away from him. True, the guy did resist, but at the point the man began running away, the officer could not have been in fear of his life. No way, no how.

If a CHL holder were to pump up to 8 rounds into the back of someone running away from you....you’z goin to prison.

My defense is that there doesn't have to be a defense. We don't know the entire story. This family obviously has problems. What's the history? Have the kids been taken away/abused in the past? Do they have numerous interactions with the cops and child welfare system?

Just because this woman won a medal does not mean she is incapable of child abuse. I know plenty of soldiers I wouldn't let walk my dog let alone take care of kids.

If this cop acted badly, then he'll pay for it. I'd just like to have all the facts other than a 20 second video. But that's just me. I like facts.

I don’t. That’s why I would need more information. This doesn’t smell right ... or complete.

Approaching cautiously. Way more to this than we know from this article.

Stay too cautious and you find yourself a victim of despotism by the time you realize that sometimes it's really as bad as it seems...

She asked for a court order, but the deputy flashed her a piece of paper and did not give her a chance to read it. When she asked to examine the document more closely, she said the deputy told her, “that’s not going to happen.”

Classic passive aggressive escalation. The steroid junkies need their excitement. Instigating with pregnant women is much safer that taking down criminals.

I’m not surprised. Actually, I was surprised I hadn’t seen them myself. I didn’t read very many posts, but I still expected to see the usual jack boot lickers doing verbal gymnastics to defend a cop shooting his victim in the back eight times.

I think most of the time, cops perform a valuable service, with honor. But not always. I can’t relate to the boot lickers who defend pounding on a handcuffed pregnant woman, because maybe they think there could be a good reason for pounding on a handcuffed pregnant woman. No matter how many facts come out, they still insist there could be more facts that haven’t been revealed, and those hidden facts could justify punching a pregnant handcuffed woman.

So, you’re just that much smarter than the over 400,000 killed by medical professionals/hospitals. They chose bad hospitals/doctors because they like to live dangerously?
