I crack up every time I think about Corrigan not having permission to cross the Atlantic but he did have permission to fly back to California. He just took a wrong turn, that’s all.
Too cool! Liked that movie.
Yes, they are. When I was in South Korea more than 20 years ago, there were signs all over the countryside showing a profile of the plane and to report any sightings to authorities. They were very concerned about them in the south.
South Korea should be grateful. These bi-planes can deliver 12 troops, 12 whole troops, to South Korea at a time. That’s 12 troops. Seems by the time the plane turns around nice and slow and comes back with another 12 that South Korea should be done processing those last 12 as prisoners of war.
You may have seen the Zeros getting shot down by Pappy Boyington but they weren't the planes the Black Sheep Squadron flew. The Black Sheep Squadron were flying F4U Corsairs...
Look out the window. It won’t make so much as a divot from that altitude! LOL!
I bet if they can get that cammo paint good enough, no one will be able to see any of their plans at all. They can point to large numbers of apparently empty revetments as proof of just how good their cammo paint really is.
You have been able to buy them on the civilian market for years. In Europe they have flying clubs dedicated to this aircraft. If I remember correctly some people use them in Alaska. This plane is easily fitted with skis. It is a very versatile plane and the stall speed is incredible. I know that former East Bloc nations were building them new but I don’t know if they still are.
Was working in the control tower at Tempelhof Airport in West Berlin when a Polish version of this aircraft was stolen and landed on Tempelhof.
My feelings in this echo your words. We, sir, are kindred spirits.
Why Eraser Head DVD no play??
