‘Egypt is Preparing for War with Israel’

Noha Hashad (51), an Egyptian nuclear scientist who fled the Nile state in 2011 after her support of Israel made her a target for torture over many long years, has exposed troubling insights regarding Egypt’s military buildup in the Sinai Peninsula, as it fights terrorist organizations there.

Speaking to Israel Hayom’s Emily Amrousi from her new home in Haifa, Hashad was asked to give her take about Egypt’s actions in Sinai, where the Egyptian army has been fighting radical groups such as Ansar Bayt al-Maqdis, a group that recently swore allegiance to Islamic State (ISIS).

“That’s all for show,” appraised Hashad. “In the race for the presidency, Ansar Bayt al-Maqdis supported (President Abdel Fattah) al-Sisi, who isn’t really fighting them.”

The nuclear scientist warned, “Egypt is preparing for war with Israel. It armed and trained Hamas in Gaza. Whoever knows Arabic can hear the heads of Egyptian military intelligence talk about wide canals that open up between Israel and Egypt that will be used at the appropriate time.”

The warning echoes appraisals by Col. (res.) Dr. Shaul Shay, former deputy head of the Israel National Security Council, who wrote in Israel Defense last December that the “Badr 2014” military maneuver, its largest in decades, was meant to prepare for “a potential conflict with Israel.” …

I’m not saying this is wrong. But if Egypt (hypothetically — because it’s not happening) occupied Israel, they would be right up at the edge of the Iranian zone of influence. It seems Israel is useful as a buffer that they know will not attack them without provocation, which they can’t say about other nations and proxy groups.

Not sure I buy it, given Sisi’s statements and actions.

Hell, he let the Israeli airforce fly over recently to bomb Libya.

I hope you’re right.

But just remember, it was only a small percentage of those Egyptians chanting “To Jerusalem we go, martyrs in the millions” in Tahrir Square back in 2011 that were Muslim Brotherhood and Salafist. Obama didn’t pick Cairo for his 2009 address to the “Muslim world” for no reason.

It’s unlikely that Morsi picked el-Sisi as military leader without vetting him first.

The woman has way too many motives for telling fabricating this story. The Egyptians have way too many motives for confronting in the Sinai AQ ISIS MB and whatever Islamic militants bent on the destruction of al Sisi

It may well have been true before Dr Hashad fled the country. Today, less so.

The Art Of War does indeed say “All war is based on deception”. One thing that is most definitely different over this span of time is Obama's big push for the Iranian nuclear non-deal.

War plans for various contingencies in general are one thing.

A specific war plan for Israel means...what?

Egypt will do an unprovoked attack on Israel? Why? Egypt fears Iran.

They expect Israel to do an unprovoked attack on them?

Why would Israel do that, unless the Muslim Brotherhood gets power again?

I agree. Egypt has taken on Israel in the past and gotten her butt whupped on every occasion. Of all the countries in that hell hole Egypt and Jordan realize peace with the Jews is beneficial for all concerned.

Egypt eliminated the Muslim Brotherhood in their own country and they are not friends with ISIS. Egypt needs world trade and a safe Suez. I do not believe this report.

You are correct, I missed that. In 2011 the Moose-limb Brotherhood was in charge of Egypt.

Okay, what "wide canals?"

War with a power like Israel is hardly practical when your nation has a single point of failure; in this case the Aswan dam.

I’ve been pointing out for years — the koran quotes allah assigning the land of Israel to the jewish people— and instructing his followers to help the Jews and that he will gather them up and restore them to the land he gave them ——— it’s anazing how we have to endure all the koran quotes from the islamonazis about subjugating and murdering the infidels but we never hear israel Jews or Chrustians quoting back the verses about Alluh wanting the moslems to help the Jews rebuild their promised land. What’s good for the goose is good for the gander. If they keep quoting that dambed book at us, we should quote it back at them. Broadcast it 24/7 into every satanic Krapistan that dares threaten any violence

Egypt certainly isn’t going to brag about being an ally of Israel. That would offend too many Muslims. But the Egyptian people were strongly disillusioned by the Muslim Brotherhood’s behavior when they came into power, and it seems very unlikely that the current government would work to give Muslim extremists more power, when the first thing those extremists would do would be to turn against the current Egyptian government, which they hate.

That’s what the United Arab front Army is all about.

Today, they fight Isis, Iran, tomorrow, their final goal is to fight Israel.

I doubt even Egyptians are dumb enough to attack Israel.

Even so, Israel should never have given up the Sinai.
