GOV JERRY BROWN: CALIFORNIANS TO BE HEAVILY FINED FOR LONG SHOWERS
Breitbart ^ | April 5, 2015 | Pam Key

Posted on 04/05/2015 3:36:45 PM PDT by MeshugeMikey

Sunday on ABC’s “This Week,” Gov. Jerry Brown (D-CA) said Californians will face heavy fines for taking long showers.

Brown said, “This executive order is done under emergency power. It has the force of law. Very unusual. It’s requiring action and changes in behavior from the Oregon border all the way to the Mexican border. It affects lawns. It affects people’s — how long they stay in the shower. How businesses use water.”

Brown said to enforce his order, “Each water district that actually delivers waters — water to homes and businesses, they carry it out. We have a state water board that overseas the relationships with the districts. Hundreds of them. If they don’t comply, people can be fined $500 a day. Districts can go to court to get a cease and desist order. The enforcement mechanism is powerful. In a drought of this magnitude, you have to change that behavior and you have to change it substantially.”

This is yet one more example of the Leftist proclivity to lead from behind.

“We won’t fix the problem, so we’ll tie an anchor around your ankle so you can’t advance.”

Brown has been governor of California since 2011. That’s right sports fans, four years and counting, this mental midget hasn’t even heard of desalinization. And this from a proud member of a national political party that demands everyone refer to them as “progressive”.

A proud proponent of dumping tens of trillions into a bullet train to nowhere, this country bumpkin as of several days ago, still hasn’t figured out that we need more water, not less use of it. And as for this bullet train, the vast majority of citizens of the state are opposed to it.

Where would our state be if leaders from past decades hadn’t stepped up and developed the California Aqueduct? We’d be in an untenable position if they hadn’t, in fact would have been decades ago.

So here we are in dire need of more water, and what do our leaders do? NOTHING! There’s not one plan on the drawing board that the public has been made aware of, for implementing a crash fresh water expansion plan.

This isn’t a new concept for the leaders of California. Power useage, gasoline useage, in fact any major public utility and in addition our highway systems in California, are totally ignored.

We have had millions of illegal immigrants crash the state. The state leadership has welcomed them with open arms. Now that our population has literally exploded, our leaders don’t expand services, they spend money on commercials demanding we use less, we drive less, we in effect roll back societal advancement. This is what I meant about tying a anchor our our ankles.

Af if this wasn’t insulting enough in California, we as members of the public actually put up with this, try to be good citizens, try to chip in and cut back, what do we get for it?

What we get for it is utilities that send out letters telling us they aren’t making as much money as they used to, so they need to raise rates.

Yep, that’s right sports fans.

1. State leadership fails to look ahead and prepare
2. Citizens are blamed for using water
3. They cut back on water usage
4. Their bills are jacked up, because they cut back too much.

This is where communism leads.

Isn’t it just grand.

The Democrats in this state have totally ——— California over.

The Democrats have been in control of the state Legislature and Senate for all but a year or two over the last 50-60 years.

Quite often they’ve been in charge of the governor’s office as well.

I’ve pointed this out to people who have degrees, a lot of total education. When I did, their comment was that all this is still the Republican’s fault.

Folks, I’m not sure how we’ll get by on the water we’re getting, but I am sure of one thing, there’s something in the water we are getting, and they sure haven’t been cutting back on that!

People aren’t this stupid naturally.

Just crazy. What about all the water those low flow toilets waste because you have to flush them more than once?

the low flow toilets are one thing the refusal to act ..on projects like desalinization,,...and common sense dams and reservoirs.

the bureaucrats and politicians simply dont live in the same world we do.

Doesn't Al Gore have one of his mansions in California?

And Michael Moore's butler?

And Moore himself.

Don't all off them have California mansions with swimming pools and lush gardens? Lush gardens that drink up mega-gallons of water...

LOL - we all know the truth - liberal elites will get a pass... the 'little people' will be restricted... again.

Eyeballing it tells me we need 0.2% of Great Lakes water.

Wish you could get it. I get tired of how we here complain about how high the Lake waters are while you all are in severe drought. I figure God made those lakes for a purpose.
