Police step up license plate readers to collect taxes now

If you live in Virginia and owe back property taxes, you should probably leave your car parked in the garage. That's because a few local police departments and towns are now using license plate readers provided by the Department of Homeland Security to spot people who owe back taxes and then impound their vehicles. Multiple agencies across the state were able to purchase automatic license plate readers thanks to grant money they received from Homeland Security's terrorism prevention program. But, rather than use them for security purposes, some seem to be using them to fill local coffers by collecting taxes.

The article has to be BS. If one owes back property taxes, the town takes the building or it is sold for back taxes owed.

I can understand if a "tenant" in said building has not paid their personal taxes and the gov impounds their car.

My question is, how do we get all those who do not own cars and don't pay taxes?

SADLY, in the 1930s, if a Jew started ranting that the Germans were going to gas and incinerate all Jews in Europe, he would have been thrown in the SLAMMER.

If people cannot deal with reality, they will take it out on those that call it out. We are now starting to see that. Within 10 years, if you drive half a mile to buy a quart of milk, it will ALL BE RECORDED. Of course they won’t care much about it, unless you plan to run for office.
