How Gun Rights Harm the Rule of Law
theatlantic.com ^ | 4/1/2015 | Firmin DeBrabander

Polls show that gun owners cite self-protection as the primary reason they are armed. Their intentions are generally good and admirable. The gun-rights movement has done a great job making the argument for individuals to be armed to protect themselves and their families in their own homes. What if you are faced with a menacing home intruder and police are far away? In that situation, it makes good sense to be armed.

But there is an unfortunate lesson playing out for those who have armed themselves to feel safer—and for all of us, too. The gun-rights movement has worked hard to push an increasingly radical agenda that undermines both our personal safety and our civic fabric. To that extent, there is something almost tragic occurring here: The well-meaning citizens who arm themselves in droves, perhaps even in public, are in that very process threatening the peace and order they seek to preserve, and claim to uphold.

Okay firmin debrabander, first of all the US is NOT a democracy. Second, at first I thought this was an April Fools piece but alas, it doesn't appear so. That pretty much leaves me speechless at this asshats supposed thought process. Not sure which constitution they read (or probably didn't or don't understand it) but it ain't the one I swore to uphold when I joined the Navy. Then again, maybe I just haven't been "enlightened".

Perhaps we should remove the First Amendment, and check back with Firmin DeBrabander to see how it’s going.

However, it does show that the idiocy of Curtis Reeves is a gift that keeps on giving for the left.

Sadly, the country seems to be overrun with IPOS/SPOS/LPOS/UPOS and yes, they do vote.

"Thanks to Stand Your Ground, citizens must now fear their armed neighbors in addition to prospective criminals. What if someone who spies you walking down the street thinks you look suspicious? What if you become a target for would-be George Zimmermans? Or what if the man you argue with, or potentially insult or offend, even unintentionally, is armed and irascible—and the argument escalates?"

WTF???? Stand you Ground laws would not apply in the slightest to any of those situations.

Obama has the same view of individual rights as enshrined in the Constitution -

they get in the way of him doing what he needs to do to make society perfect.

I stopped at "The gun-rights movement has worked hard to push an increasingly radical agenda

and thought a moment, then continued to read further looking for the proof
of this radical agenda, and there is none. People will break the law no matter
if guns are outlawed but what this putz isn't concerned about is a Womans right
to defend themselves "With a Gun" or any other legal gun owner.

The radical agenda here is the constant attempt to ignore our Constitution which
the founding of our country is about. Freedom from tyranny.

Radical is the Homosexual Marxists, go get on that bandwagon asshole!

“A traitor is everyone who does not agree with me.”
King George III

The United States Citizens KNOW that they're going to have to fight TYRANTS in their own government.
You can not protect life, without the ability to take life.

While you are WAITING for the police to respond, someone could be losing their life.
All people of a responsible age should be armed.

As EternalVigilance reminded us:

Click here to read the 12 page pamphlet.

Let us NEVER FORGET THAT !

Let's subjugate them to OUR end game, DUST!
"COMPROMISE" is a DIRTY word!
People who study the Bible know that COMPROMISE almost always leads to destruction.

It's time to mock the "Gun Control" Zombies!
"Gun Control" is a firm grip, steady breathing, accurate aim (developed by lots of practice), and a slow trigger pull.

The Swiss have got it CORRECT !
We need to learn from the Swiss and implement their "gun control measures" here in the United States right now, today!
These laws are the ones we should shove into the "2nd Amendment Haters" faces.

The Swiss have got it CORRECT !
Let's adopt THEIR LAWS !

Remember: Read Second Amendment: It’s Not About Hunting, IT'S ABOUT TYRANNY .

You might want to watch this.

Um, not sure about the rest of you, but I’m armed mainly to protect myself from GOVERNMENT! :)

Polls? What a joke. I don't need a reason. Nor will I give one if asked.
