The only area of Turkey with electricity seems to be a Province bordering Iran.

Lots of interesting unsubstantiated chatter on Twitter about what may be the cause.

All kinds of chaos in Turkey today.

This morning A saw that someone had taken a prosecutor hostage over his failure to prosecute a cop who killed an “unarmed teen”.

The article said this was the worst power outage in ten years, so apparently these happen with some regularity.
