Reid says whistleblowers lobbing accusations at him are ‘a bunch of whiners’
Washington Times ^ | March 30, 2015 | David Sherfinski and Stephen Dinan

"An inspector general called them courageous, but Sen. Harry Reid said Friday that the government whistleblowers who accused him of using political pressure to try to win special treatment for a Las Vegas casino were “a bunch of whiners.”

........[Homeland Security Inspector General John] Roth said the special treatment was brought to his attention by more than 15 whistleblowers — an extraordinary number, in Mr. Roth’s judgment — who believed Mr. Mayorkas was caving to political pressure.

“That so many individuals were willing to step forward and tell us what happened is evidence of deep resentment about Mr. Mayorkas‘ actions related to the [investor visa] program,” Mr. Roth said..............."

Wonder if any of this had anything to do with Harry’s decision not to run for re-election?

...Mr. Mayorkas has since been promoted to be deputy secretary at the Homeland Security Department, thanks in large part to Mr. Reid, who pushed the nomination through with the help of the so-called “nuclear option” that changed the Senate rules by shortcut and curtailed the ability of Republicans to filibuster President Obama’s nominees.

Mr. Mayorkas would likely have been blocked had the old filibuster rules been in place...

On Dingy Harry’s first day back to work, Biden said “now look here Harry, see here, the bill must be stopped”

Well, according to Harry:

“This accident has caused [my wife] Landra and me to have a little down time. I have had time to ponder and to think,” Reid said. “We’ve got to be more concerned about the country, the Senate, the state of Nevada than about ourselves. And as a result of that, I’m not going to run for re-election.”

Don’t know, the scandal arises from actions in 2013. He says it’s his role as a representative of his state to expedite paperwork for his constituents. Except these were foreign investors.

I think in Harry’s case, he’s just an old tired fart who is leaving office (and handing over the reins to Chuck Schumer). I do not appreciate the politicians who serve 30+ plus years in office and then hold onto their seat until the day they die. The changes the Democrats wish for this nation establish policies they themselves will never live under (they never return to private citizenship).

He has a large family. That’s a lot of graft and corruption to spread around. Ain’t Marxism wonderful?

Harry’s in the gray area on this one. You really can’t tell what’s going on. It’s nice to conjecture that he got beat up as a comeuppance for all the crap he’s given the GOP, and being forced to resign under duress but I point out:

1. His injuries are consistent with full body contact.
2. He is 72 so retirement could have been in the cards anyway.

2. “government whistleblowers”

Just a little more reason to believe it was a pimp slappin ass whipin

Harry has sold America down the drain by backing Obama and ramming Obama’s anti American socialist crap through the senate. Harry never did anything without greasing his palm.

I disagree- that is Facial trauma- consistent with a
fist or blunt object hitting him- by the way-
IN THE EYE- being old he bruises easily... I believe the
person who did this did not know he was going to look
so bruised...

72- retirement?- no way, he could be brain DEAD and they
would still be rolling him into the senate for roll call

The Reid “family” is one evil ANTI-American criminal enterprise- they should all be locked up

I get the impression that he wasn’t given much of a choice about retiring.
