WALKER TOUGHENS IMMIGRATION POSITION AFTER SETBACKS
Breitbart ^ | March 27, 2015 | by MATTHEW BOYLE

Posted on 03/29/2015 11:11:08 PM PDT by Jim Robinson

After some setbacks over the past several weeks, top aides to Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker tell Breitbart News that he’s toughening up his immigration position as he learns more about the issue.

“He’s for border security first, enforce the laws on the books, fix legal immigration system with national interest in mind and then deal with those here,” Walker spokeswoman Kirsten Kukowski said in an email.

Kukowski’s comments to Breitbart News come after a trip Walker took on Friday to the border with Republican Texas Gov. Greg Abbott.

A lot depends on what the governor means by a: “legal immigration system with national interest in mind.” Still, this could be a step toward Walker remaking his image on immigration in the manner of Senate Judiciary Committee subcommittee on Immigration and the National Interest chairman Sen. Jeff Sessions (R-AL).

The question becomes: What does Walker think is a legal immigration system that serves the national interest? While he hasn’t laid that out yet, there’s a massive opportunity for either success—or failure—depending on where he comes down on this matter.

“He looks forward to further detailing his ideas on securing the border and enforcing the laws,” Kukowski added. “Yes, at the minimum, there needs to be penalties put in place. In addition to securing our borders, the federal government must enforce our laws, penalize those who break the law including paying back taxes, and implement a universal E-Verify system so employers are hiring legal employees.”

Where Walker comes down on the immigration system could make or break his candidacy...

Sept 13, 2013: “....Immigration-reform legislation from the Senate’s so-called Gang of Eight passed that chamber in June and includes a 13-year path to citizenship. Cruz pushed unsuccessfully for amendments that would have, among other things, eliminated the citizenship component.

Asked about what to do with the people here illegally, however, he stressed that he had never tried to undo the goal of allowing them to stay.

“The amendment that I introduced removed the path to citizenship, but it did not change the underlying work permit from the Gang of Eight,” he said during a recent visit to El Paso. Cruz also noted that he had not called for deportation...”

Republicans being border hawks at election time is as certain as the geese flying north in the spring, and south in the fall. Of course, once they take the oath they all turn into John Judas McCain.

Meaningless fluctuations will be the story as long as God is shut out of the picture.

That said, wallowing in pessimism is its own self fulfilling prophecy.

Ignorant to what? To a supposed dictum that an earthly past always predicts an earthly future? Ecclesiastes blows that quite out of the water. God puts an end to the same old same old. It is YOUR fault if you do not let Him do so. Not His!

Happy for all who after a lifetime of frustrating worldly folly, once more put their trust and hope in God and have their minds opened once more to what they had overlooked.

Apparently not including you.

God is the creator of all, including you and I.

We both fell, with all humanity.

I accepted redemption.

How about you?

This is simply passing on the message as I was told by God to do. You are free to reject. This is not using God as a weapon at all. God is quite His own “I am.”

Keep on holding the grudge if you must, but you’ve been told where that leads. You want a “God” who will tell you everything you have been doing is all right, and nobody can meddle with that “God.”

The real God will tell you, not it is not all right, but put your trust in Him and you are forgiven for what was not all right.

Every top Republican candidate - including Ted Cruz - is pushing the same wheel barrow of steaming political poop:

(1) “Secure the borders first.”

(2) “No path to citizenship.”

The border laws are already on the books - and our guys do NOTHING to enforce them today!

And I’m supposed to believe they will enforce the exact same laws in the future?

And “No Path To Citizenship?”

More poop!

Every one of our candidates knows the Federal Court system will do it’s best to declare that illegal.

And if the Courts should fail?

Millions of Hispanics will be in the streets in 2016 screaming “Racism” at the GOP.

And the GOP will panic and give them whatever they want.

Our immigration laws should go back to what they were before Ted Kennedy screwed things up. Secondly, no birthright citizenship. Anyone born in this country to parents who were not legally in this country, should lose their citizenship - retroactive to 1986 (when Reagan sign the Amnesty law)

“So I will cut him some slack on this. “

Just because he has been working on hard issues as Governor is no reason to cut him slack on illegal invaders.

Pretty simple.

They broke the law when they crossed the border

They do not deserve amnesty no way no how.

They must deport and return to back of line.

If they need help deporting they can show up at any BP station and the US will assist in deportation flights.

Being CIC will be harder and he will not have 4 years to change his mind to get it right on tough issues.

Illegal invaders in our country is an EASY issue. Get them the hell out and prevent others from coming in. We just need a President that sees it the way the American people see it.

....and then deal with those here

He did it again. In a very sly way he said he isn't going to deal with those already here until everything else is done. If he said while dealing with those here illegally, using EVerify to identify them through any benefit, job, or housing applications" that could work.

The only thing that saves the US is if we get invaders out ASAP.

The argument in Wisconsin is about unions, not immigration. Some aspects of illegal immigration just happen to be a very small part of the larger picture of the fight.

Please don’t try to change the argument.

I'm not a politician..obvious.

I will vote...at this point for Walker...but I'm concerned...he's had to modify his position on illegal's...

Being born and raised in SoCal..gives me a very different perspective.

But Walker ought to have people like me....giving him the straight skinny!!

Walker is for citizenship, and Cruz is fighting citizenship with everything he has.

WRONG.

Either you are ill-informed or a deliberate liar.

Walker has been opposed to amnesty since before he was governor of Wisconsin.

If you are going to throw accusations, be accurate. Otherwise, you are no different than Jeb or Hillary supporters.

The biggest difference is Cruz has been on the front lines fighting the democrats and the GOPe on amnesty for years. Walker is still in the process of evolving for an election.
