Tim Cook: Apple Will Oppose Bills Like Indiana's 'Religious Freedom' Law

Apple Chief Executive Tim Cook on Sunday broadened his criticism of a new law in Indiana, which opponents say could be used to discriminate against gay people, to other states that he says have similar laws.

Indiana Gov. Mike Pence signed the Religious Freedom Restoration Act into law Thursday, sparking an outcry from those, including Cook, who say it could be used to protect businesses that refuse to serve gay people. The law's supporters say it will prevent the government from forcing business owners from providing services that go against their religious beliefs.

"These bills rationalize injustice by pretending to defend something many of us hold dear," Cook wrote in a Washington Post op-ed, referring not only to Indiana's law, which goes into effect in July, but also to those of "more than two dozen states."

If you can show me where I've "repeated falsehoods", I'll retract them. If you can't find any, you retract that accusation. Deal?

I have answered everyone of them multiple times. . . and I am not going down that road again. You see the facts and then the next thread, you repeat the same litanies. Why should I repeat them again. We do the same dance every thread. Sorry. No.

Wow, looks like everyone here except you and your butt-buddy ST are liars. I don't know why you stick around. Seriously.

And there you go again, attributing homosexuality to mere Apple users. . . asshat. We wonder why you and you non-Apple using Apple-Hate mongering brigade show up on every Apple-thread to spread your bile, like this name calling idiocy which adds nothing to any civil discussion.

No, we don't. In fact the last time we "did the dance" you jumped on me for something I said that obviously wasn't verifiable fact. When you found out it actually originated from an Apple defender you fell quiet. It was only wrong if I said it.

ST thinks I have -post196- good enough for me. But I'm willing to earn your endorsement.

I would prefer that you did not. I much prefer civil conversation. . . not flame wars and name calling.

Apple CEO Tim Cook is happy to declare that Christians shouldn’t have religious liberty and go after Indiana because he feels that it will not hurt his bottom line. Not doing business with countries that actually arrest or kill homosexual is another matter. Let’s remember that virtually every Apple product is produced in China, a country where homosexuals are still threatened with jail, and where the virtual slave labor at Apple factories are known to commit suicide to protest their conditions. So remind me again about Cook’s concern for homosexual rights, human rights, and ethical business practices.
