Posted on 03/29/2015 6:25:47 PM PDT by nickcarraway

A San Jose neighborhood was shut down Sunday morning when a man with a machete went on a rampage.

It happened on Mocho Court, near the Tully Road 101 exit

Neighbors said around 10:30 a.m., the suspect went walking around the neighborhood with a machete. Later, he smashed a car with the weapon and then went into his garage and started lighting items on fire.

Police surrounded the suspect and he was taken into custody.

The suspect's sister said he may have wanted police to take his life.

The suspect has not been identified, and nobody was hurt.

5 minutes with cutting torch and a grinder and I can turn a 2 inch wide piece of scrap iron into a machete.

It looks scary until you realize he can’t draw any of them without cutting his vest to pieces. How would he draw those two large machetes?

The suspect's sister said he may have wanted police to take his life.

Suicide by cop works best if the perp is white or Asian. Any other color invites an excuse to riot, put the cop on trial and loot the neighborhood.

Didn't Jason carry around a machete?

Why, yes, he did!

If you saw a guy like him wielding a machete would you shoot him or give him a hug?

“This happened in California you know.”

Be careful. FR has more of us crazy Californians than
from anywhere else. Remember the whack job Jihadist
who decapitated the lady at work?....Oh, wait. ..That
happened in Oklahoma! Never mind.

Yeah, but that was OKC area. That’s really just a distant suburb of Dallas.

It’s all those ethnicities and more.

It’s also the location of more then a little violence. Once saw a dead guy just off Capitol Expressway across from Reid-Hillview. Cops showed up just after; wrong gang drove by and did him.

Whats strange is now its gentrifying. Any habitable dirt in the Santa Clara valley is valuable now - the po folks gonna end up in Hollister.

But it ain’t there yet. Still got the jungle refugees there...

“Yeah, but that was the OKC area”......

Yeah, but that whacked out machete guy was in San Jose....

Do you sense something in your own words? Could it
be an urban vs rural issue as much as it is a
California problem? Are you among those who don’t
realize that there is a whole bunch of flyover
California?

No. And I feel sorry for the people on the Sierra’s eastern slope. I drove up and down 395 a few times one summer and felt right at home in those small towns. There was a great burger stand in Bishop.

Eastern Slope of the Sierra? 395? That’s it?
Western slope.......Hwy 49: Twain Harte, Amador, Jackson.
Hwy99 (NorCal): Live Oak, Gridley, Los Molinos...I-5:
Williams, Maxwell, Willows, Red Bluff.....and hundreds
of other “feel at home” California towns. More
flyover than yuppie - lefty land. But we’re all treated
like we’re in LA or SF. To hell w/that.
