Heartless Visitors Snap Selfies at East Village Blast Site (NYC)

Self-absorbed jerks are treating the East Village gas-explosion site like a tourist attraction, shooting grinning selfies of themselves even as rescuers search for life in the ruins where two bodies might still be buried.

“THIS IS A TRAGEDY NOT A TOURIST ATTRACTION,” one frustrated neighbor wrote in a sign taped to a front door on nearby 7th Street. “SHOW SOME RESPECT,” the sign demanded.

Other selfie-snappers included Christina Freundlich, whose LinkedIn profile lists her as a communications director for the Iowa Democratic Party. She posted a grinning photo of herself at the scene giving the peace sign.

This is what NYC has become (not that this wouldn't happen in other cities). But the kicker is what I've highlighted. Such compassion from those Democrats. You can see some of the pics at the link. The Post always does a good job with these types of stories.

Rush pointed this out about the need of so many people to be “part of the story”.

But there is more to it, I remember a convenience store video where people were stepping over a person that had a heart attack of something to pay for their stuff. No one showed any concern. We have lost the view that human life is special. Sad.

It will probably be his memorial service as his body will probably not be found. I would not be surprised if he joins Jimmy Hoffa and Judge Crater.

Normally I don’t get too upset with people being idiotic. But this is really nothing to smile about. Those two young men were probably blown to smithereens and so many people have lost EVERYTHING.

I can’t imagine being as self absorbed as these people are and the Iowa Dem Party should be questioned as to whether their communications director reflects the party’s view that loss of life and property is something amusing.

These people ignore the seriousness around them. They do this with the debt, the loss of rights, their inability to produce their own goods for their survival.

It’s the loss of situational awareness. And, they’re proud of their ignorance.

Silly. Why can’t people take selfies? There are no visible bodies.

So, taking a selfie in front of a train crash scene shortly after it happened with bright smiles would be fine for you as well? Or a car crash where a member of your family died? As long as no actual bodies were showing.
