Andreas Lubitz: Germanwings flight's last minutes revealed in chilling black box transcript

29 March 2015 By Alex Wellman

Patrick Sondheimer is heard screaming to his co-pilot "Open the goddam door" as passengers scream in the background

The dramatic last moments of the doomed Germanwings flight have been revealed in a chilling transcript of the black box recording that shows the captain screaming at Andreas Lubitz “Open the goddam door”.

Patrick Sondheimer, pilot of the traffic plane, is heard frantically pleading with the killer to let him into the cockpit, just seconds before crashing into the Alps.

Evidence: The Cockpit Voice Recorder of the Germanwings plane has shown the terrifying last moments of the flight

The recording is said to begin normally, with the captain apologizing to passengers for an almost 30 minute delay in Barcelona.

He then tells them he expects the flight to make up the lost time mid-flight to Dusseldorf.

Revealed in the German newspaper Bild, the recordings then show the tragic captain chatting with Lubitz for the next 20 minutes.

According to the paper, the killer co-pilot then tells Mr Sondheimer he can go to the toilet at any time – noting that he had not relieved himself at the airport in Barcelona.

A short while later, 10.27am, the plane has reached its cruising altitude of 38,000ft and the captain tells Lubitz to prepare for the landing.

According to investigators, the co-pilot’s responses are said to be “laconic”, with the 27-year-old using phrase such as “hopefully” and “we’ll see”.

“Plausible to open doors & jump out? No.”

Of course not. That’s why everyone has to be on the wings
so they can all jump at the same time.

“What was the speed at impact? I had read 430 mph”

Doesn’t matter. Once the people jump and leave the airplane
they would no longer be traveling with it.

Physics Question:

What if there were a thousand flys in the cabin all buzzing about and flying continuously?

Would they increase the weight of the aircraft?

Gee, only about the speed of sound. So I'll have to get back to you on that one.:)

Yep - this is more than simple suicide, its terrorism in my book. Selfish little creep. Slightly tinfoil hat: I still wouldn’t be surprised if he was writing his own sick notes - tearing up the ones that didn’t look quite right (eventually found by the investigators), just for cover while he “researched and trained” for his suicide.

“Would they increase the weight of the aircraft?”

No, and the turbulence from the airflow created to displace
their weight inside the cabin would be easily corrected by
a slight trim correction on the ailerons. However this is
not recommended if the aircraft is flying to close to
the speed of sound. Flys flying forward may break the
sound barrier.

Why can’t they simply have a computer program which will not allow a pilot to take a plane into a mountain? Or, if such instructions are put into it, the plane could automatically contact the tower for verification.

Seems as though this would be an easy fix. The technology is there, and there is absolutely no need for a plane to even head directly into a mountain (or the sea, or a tower)

Yes!

Hopefully this tragedy will drive the development of diagnostic tools that will let us detect and remove the many ambulatory psychotics, sociopaths, sadists and narcissists that infest our board rooms, police departments, government agencies and supervisor posts. Read the book “Snakes in Suits”, for a take on how common this syndrome is. The German police need to learn the difference between the term “psychosomatic” and the term “psychotic”. Psychosomatic means a physical ailment that has a psychological cause- a nervous twitch or hives or chronic problems for which there is no evidence of injury. Psychosomatic illness is a symptom of neuroses- milder psychological problems that do not interfere with a normal life. Lubitz was psychotic, a much more severe mental condition that can make people dangerous to themselves and others. Of course, Lufthansa doesn’t want the term “psychotic” applied to any of its employes because it implies a lack of diligence in its screening process.

I’ll say it was different! What a despicable post you discovered — but it typifies the selective sensitivities of the left.

Will periodic govt. psych tests be mandatory for ALL transportation operators

SAC (Strategic Air Command) used to have a PRP (Personnel Reliability Program) for aircrew members (bomber, tanker, or missileers).

So, in an ever more 'careful' and socialist society, yes.

that guy is an idiot

Airplanes DO leave body part when they pancake

the bodies are ripped apart because they went from 500MPH to zero in 3 seconds, all limbs rip off

If they dont, all ligiments are torn and hanging as the limbs stay on but the body is jello due to the g-force decelleration

Sort of like being inside a blast, if the shrapnel dont kill you, the shock wave crushes your internal organs, still, you look like putty and die anyways

That idiot had a lsd induced vision or something

More like .001 seconds.

Yes, and if the cabin were filled with helium it would decrease the weight of the aircraft.

And everyone would sound like Donald Duck.
