In the plane, the automatic alarm signal ‘Sink Rate’ sounds almost at the same time, according to the voice recorder. Shortly afterwards there is a loud bang, which sounds like someone trying to enter the cockpit. Sondheimer yells: ‘For God’s sake, open the door!’
In the background, passengers can be heard screaming.
At 10.35am ‘loud, metallic banging against the cockpit door’ is heard again, according to the French authorities. The jet is still 7,000ft above the ground.
About 90 seconds later there is a new warning message – ‘Ground! Pull up! Pull up!’
The pilot is heard shouting: ‘Open the goddamn door!’

That’s just absolutely horrifying to imagine
I don’t do anything I can’t be armed while doing.
Imagining the heart of evil or insanity....is too much for us mere humans.
Other articles have said, “oh, the passengers couldn’t hear the captain trying break down the door”.
This is more realistic.
This is such a horror story. Death in slow motion. 8 minutes is a long time to know you’re going to die.
It was said that, after 9/11. the doors were built to withtand someone trying to shoot off the lock ... and to withstand a grenade blast!!!
No wonder they couldn’t get in.
I wonder if the cowardly bastard gave himself a drug to go unconscious, so he wouldn’t have to face what he was making everyone else face. The audio supposedly revealed calm, steady breathing all the way down. I find it hard to believe that from his view in the cockpit he didn’t even start breathing harder as he listened to the pounding on the door and the screams and watched the ground come up.

I can’t imagine all of the suffering that went on during those final minutes..they all knew they were going to die and couldn’t do a damn thing to stop it..this pilot died a hero, trying to save his plane

We had best pay attention to the islamic issue...and that of allowing people coming off their psych medications...in the cockpit.
Can not imagine how frantic, helpless and desperate the pilot must have been in his last few moments.

The terrible irony of this whole tragedy is that because of post-9/11 security, the pilot could not get back into the cockpit to take back the controls from this lunatic.

My reaction to this event..has in some ways been very very similar to ny reaction to the events on September 11, 2001.
The relative magnitudes of the tragedies doesnt seem to matter, just the useless anger.
Yes of course were angry, but I tend to think if Only: a bit too much and risk the “chance” of becoming embittered!

Yes, they said, the pilot was repeatedly urged to go ti the bathroom, that the co-pilot would take control.
mental illness in and of itself..doesnt cover the evil hough the evil in a very real sense are extremely mentally ill
