Dont fall for this BS

This is just propaganda put out by the Bush RINO’s to try and kneecap their competition.

My first Choice is Cruz, but I would gladly pull the lever for Walker

NO MORE BUSH’S!

The problem isn’t with those here on green cards; the problem is with those here without them, i.e., here illegally.

We need to get past that and then we can address how many green cards should be issued, who should get them, what benefits accrue to their holders, and whether eventual citizenship is possible under certain circumstances.

The term “comprehensive”, for what is needed, is an understatement.

I’d throw into the mix voter ID reform. If theres a requirement that immigrants are issued IDs identifying them as non-citizens, and presentation and validation of IDs are required to register and vote, it goes a long way to mitigating the vote fraud risk.

I never liked Motor Voter, but know that it isn’t going away. It needs to be tightened up so that the systems identify a non-citizen clearly, flag them as not being able to register to vote (let alone vote) and throws up flags (if not automaticlly deny) when an attempt is made.

An analogy: Suppose you drive to work every day and, as I do, enter a 45 MPH zone on a four lane highway that virtually everyone runs at 55-60 until they reach the traffic light ahead. No one, for years, has dropped to 45 until past that light. Most days, you and everyone else, runs it 10-12 mile over the speed limit. And no one is ever stopped for speeding in that zone, ever, unless driving well over 60 perhaps.

But it turns out there was a red light camera that wasn’t checking whether you ran the light, but was recording your speed in that zone, and had been doing so for the last year.

Now, you’re made highway commissioner one day. You look at the law and you look at the traffic report generated by that red light camera. You realize, in a stroke of brilliance (that some would call wrong-headed obstinance) that you can raise $25 million dollars in one stroke by issuing 250 or so $100 speeding tickets to the thousand people who (all) speed in that zone each work day. You send out the tickets because “the law is the law.”

Prediction: You will not be traffic commissioner the day after they’re opened. And if you announce your intention on the day you apply for the job, you’ll not be hired.

Now, compare your highway commissioner experience with the dilemma faced by a GOP presidential candidate when he realizes he has a lot of voters who sound like they’d send out those tickets simply because “the law is the law”. Granted, we haven’t enforced it for a couple of decades, but still...the law is the law, right?

I agree. But first we have to elect a GOP President and there’s a sizable number of conservatives who insist upon maintaining a solid “no amnesty” stance on the issue. If they stay home, we could get the opposite of what is needed, but they might just do that because there is not a “no amnesty” candidate available, and there won’t be.

Not surrendering the country or the rule of law.
The illegal aliens know they are illegal aliens, they know they are subject to deportation.
No accomodation for fraudulently documented foreigners. The only people who want that are those benefitting from their presence, the cheap labor importers.

Any pathway to citizenship better be long and tortuous with lots of hoops including payment of back taxes

I like how one FReeper put "a pathway to citizenship":

"A burglar breaks into my home and I catch him in the act. I tell him politely to leave and come back and ring the doorbell first. Then he's welcome to take whatever I have."

My first choice is Cruz, and Walker would be a second. Walker still has time for his views on illegal immigration to “evolve.” If he doesn’t come out hard for border security and repudiates amnesty, he will fade. Maybe he could be Vice President, and that would be a good ticket.
