Sorry, but the AP will not automatically pull up.
No expert should be saying so.
It will only issue the “pull up” warning.
If you set the AP for 100 feet, as was done in this case, the AP will fly the plane into terrain.
There is currently no system on any airliner that will avoid terrain automatically, as far as I know.
A little pinch of shrooms or a dab of bath salts after hearing the cockpit door latch would account for his paranoid-psychotic hallucinogenic mass-murdering state-of-mind..
