"If we must have an enemy at the head of Government, let it be one whom we can oppose, and for whom we are not responsible, who will not involve our party in the disgrace of his foolish and bad measures." - Alexander Hamilton |
|
"We don't intend to turn the Republican Party over to the traitors in the battle just ended. We will have no more of those candidates who are pledged to the same goals as our opposition and who seek our support. Turning the Party over to the so-called moderates wouldnt make any sense at all." -- President Ronald Reagan |
|
"A thing moderately good is not so good as it ought to be. Moderation in temper is always a virtue; but moderation in principle is always a vice." - Thomas Paine 1792 |
|
"It does not take a majority to prevail, but rather an irate, tireless minority, keen on setting brushfires of freedom in the minds of men." - Samuel Adams |
|
"If ye love wealth better than liberty, the tranquility of servitude better than the animating contest of freedom, go home from us in peace. We ask not your counsels or your arms. Crouch down and lick the hands which feed you. May your chains set lightly upon you, and may posterity forget that you were our countrymen." - Samuel Adams |

I think Cruz will be able to garner a significant number of Hispanic voters, of all I know about Cruz I don’t know if he speaks Spanish, I’ve always just assumed he does.

Jeb will be planning a private lunch with John McCain, Peter King and Pay Buchanan. “What can we do to sabotage this Cruz guy? This is getting out of control, and I haven’t even declared yet!”

I’ve read that Cruz does not speak Spanish. (Unfortunate; it would be helpful if he did.)

Ted has more than just the GOP base in his column.
He also has a substantial majority of Independents who now make up an astonishing 42% of the electorate.
He also has the Reagan Democrats, the Perot Demographic and near half of US Citizen Latinos.
By every careful, restrained and realistic calculation that errs to the negative, Ted Cruz will receive at least 53% to 54% of the popular vote, as long as millions of illegal aliens are not amnestied and registered to vote.
The Electoral College Map is different. There the democrats have a built-in advantage but it can be and must be overcome. The political war rooms will be fighting tooth and nail for every last critical district in battleground states.

He does not speak it fluently.
But he got 40% of the Latino vote when he ran for office in Texas.
He should get near 50% of the US Citizen Latino vote in 2016 as long as illegals are not given amnesty and then registered to vote.

I agree. In an earlier post I suggested that the Libs:
1. Think Ted Cruz can win.
2. Are afraid things will get better when he does.
So they are running very scared right now. Ted Cruz outshining Obama is their worst nightmare.

Yep, I’m ‘On Fire With Excitement’ over Ted Cruz. He has my vote and I hope he can win this thing. We need a leader like this man.

An unapologetic conservative will get far more votes than someone who tries to be all things to all people.
It’s the opposite of leftism. There will never be an unapologetic leftist as a viable presidential candidate.
The closest that anyone in my lifetime got to that was Mondale, and look what happened to him.

I would guess that about 50% of the independents were former repubs who just got fed up with their cave-ins to the dems.
