Keep in mind the history of Islam and its use of the practice of “taqiyya” (lying to non-Muslims) leading up to its attempts at conquest.

Then the real fun begins.

Today it’s ISIS, but this is no different from what occurred 650AD until the Crusades.

ISIS is not saying ... “These parts are no longer valid today!” ... instead they are saying, “These parts are still valid!”.

What Sisi is talking about is a new “theology” that says, “These parts are no longer valid today! ... just like the Christians do.

Exactly. Muslims are already way into “sola scriptura”.

Old Testament and New Testament. The Christian part is second one. The Old Testament is Jewish.

This is naive. You can’t reform a religion whose “holy” book & founding prophet explicitly call for the death of non-Muslims. Forced conversions, the prohibition of apostasy, and intentional discrimination of non-Muslims robs the individual of free will.

A good Christian is a person that faithfully practices the precepts of the Bible. A good Muslim is an oxymoron; the best we can expect from a Muslim is that he ignores his faith.

Whole swaths of the koran need to be changed just to make it peaceful. Even IF muslims were living on the planet Mars, the hatred for non-muslims will never change because of the koranic leanings.

If annihilation is reformation, then OK

Not to Christians ... :-) ...

To Christians God’s Word is 66 books of the Bible from 40 authors who penned the Word of God as inerrantly and authoritatively guided by him. You can’t really be a Christian and understand what it’s about without the WHOLE WORD OF GOD and that would be from Genesis to Revelation.

Much of the New Testament comes right out of the Old Testament. The promises of God to Israel, which were partially fulfilled in the New Testament, still have their fulfillment to come, as we see in very shorthand form in Revelation 20 ... where it is very much more fleshed out in the Old Testament.

You really can’t understand what is going on and what will be going on without the Old Testament.

You need to go over that Old Testament with a fine tooth comb and reconsider everything you’ve read there!

Mrs. Don-o, that was an uncalled for cheap shot, unless you really think Christian dissenters from the bishop of Rome are no better than moslems.

“reformed” mohammedanism is still mohammedanism. It’s still a bogus religion based on the demonic ravings of a mad, murderous pedophile.

Heck most of them don’t know what the Koran actually says as it’s in arabic....so they depend and rely on the Imams and the Hadiths.

At any rate there’s nothing good about Islam teachings whatsoever...

Reformation? That would be abandonment. Islam is opression and jihad, that is its whole point of being.. Stop covering. There are no extremeists. Only those that actually follow Islam and those that say they do but do not...........

I've never read about any other religion whose holy book demands nonbelievers either be converted or face virtual slavery or death. What other religion says people who leave their religion must be killed? And it treats females like sexual slaves.

There has never been a religion with as inherently, evil dictates as Islam. It is the religion of the stupidest and most violent males on earth. Obviously, there are millions of Muslims who aren't violent or stupid. But they're ruled by those who are.

That may be true, but it’s beside the point.

Reformed Christianity is still Christianity; its source is the same as Roman Catholic Christianity. Aside from a few fringe lunatics, everybody recognizes this fact. Both sides of the RC/Prot divide are recognizably Christian, with the Person of Jesus Christ as their root.

Similarly, reformed mohammedanism (if such a thing could exist) would still be mohammedanism. Its source would be the same as that of the shia, sunni, and other existing branches of mohammedanism. Mohammedanisms source is not God; its source is the demon inspired ravings of a caravan raider. No possible reformation can redeem that; no possible reformation can improve it. Reformed mohammedanism would still be evil at its roots.

I would argue that both reformation and revolution incorrectly describe what is underway. A better descriptive term is reversion.

Islam has evolved to suit the hundreds of millions in the non Arab countries and to a lesser extent in Arab countries. The modern Islam is not nearly so demanding or harsh as it was. Prayer time for instance is not so rigidly observed or enforced. Few radical terrorists come from say Indonesia or Malaysia or Bangladesh.

The various radical fundamentalist are not reformers but religious ultra conservatives insisting in rolling back the current Islam to some idealistic past.

The Islamic radical movement is the exact opposite to the Christian reformation where the revolution was against or opposed to the Roman Catholic Church that so many bad things going for it that great masses of various populations just left.

The commonality is that both the Christian Reformation and the Islamic reversion will take many many years, It is not going to be over quick

Sisi speaks for the hundreds of millions against the hundreds of thousands

“Others forget the Reformation was about reform of the church, not the Bible. “

Christians don’t take the Bible literally. Moslems do take their Koran literally.
