Our Ministry of Truth seems to like to throw the "war" word around a lot, without actually bothering with an official, legal declaration. Susan Rice can say anything she wants, simply because her followers are ill-equipped with any long-term memory.

His defense will bring that up. But with the loss of life from the initial search for him, I don’t see a court-martial handing down less than life in prison.
I’ll probably get a visit from the FBI for saying this, so I won’t. But - to put it mildly - the NYT has been an enemy of America for a long time.
How stupid can you get? A soldier deserts for 5 years and they wonder if he’ll get an honorable discharge after conviction? He’ll be lucky to be thrown out with a DD, reduction in rank to E-1 and no jail time.
There’s no link....the excerpt of the stupidity is in the tweets. Obviously if someone at the NYT is too numb to understand that a desertion conviction eliminates the possibility for an Honorable Discharge, they shouldn’t be in the newsroom.

My SGT older brother made sure this ROTC cadet didn’t get an overinflated sense of military self-worth. The 2LT/PFC joke was one of his better bits on the subject - so I have used it over the years.
I only heard a couple of complaints about it - always from fellow officers!
