New York City limits juice in day cares

Health officials in New York City are cutting the amount of just (juice) that can be served in day care centers and raising the age of children who can drink it.

In new rules published this week, the Health Code limits the amount of juice a child can drink a day at 4 ounces. The old rules allowed 6 ounces a day.

Children must now also be 2-years-old to be served juice. The old rules allowed children as young as 8-months old to be served juice.

The city cites USDA recommendations that the majority of a child's recommended fruit servings should come from whole fruit.

The new rules also cut the amount of educational TV viewing for children from 60 minutes a day to 30. Also, children under the age of 2 are not allowed any TV viewing time.

The rules also require that children not be allowed to remain sedentary or to sit passively for more than 30 minutes at a time except during nap time.

The health department says the rule changes are aimed at combating early childhood obesity.

The problem is, they move to get away from it, and then vote it in where ever they go.

However, the weekly chocolate ration will remain unchanged.

Remember, anything not mandated is prohibited.

Who would have guessed that a Big Gulp or a juice box would become symbols of liberty? The nanny state fans who want government to make those choices for (what used to be) free Americans disgust me beyond words.

Oh brother.

My daughters drank juice like it was going out of style.

One ran cross country in high school and college and is now training for a marathon.

The other will be swimming for a well known college.

NEITHER has had any issues with weight.

HOLD ON A MINUTE!! Maybe it’s because they are active?

NYC officials to starving children: Take your water and gruel and go sit in the corner!

Children would be better off in home environments if parent(s) must work. Society should do a reset. Daycare is good for raising brain-controlled, government owned freaks. It is not good for nurturing and meeting the individual needs of very young children. It doesn't take a village to raise a child. It takes loving parents to raise a child.

So, I'm a Luddite. And proud of it.

No no: what is prohibited will bring associations of manufacturers to the halls of government for lobbying purposes. And they will pay....cash...to the legislators.

BINGO.

These people make a mess of their own state and then move south or west only to keep voting the way they did thus they destroy their new state.

We have a NY family who moved here. They have been nothing but trouble, proudly had the Obama sign, the only one in the area and then claim all sorts of welfares and then make trouble to the neighbors by lying.
House they are renting has gone to crap, dirty windows, grass not cut, trash left out,he walks about in underpants and if anyone ever says anything they claim it is racist because he is half black and she is white.
Daughter proudly tells kids she is getting free food at school and the local church gives them food as well. They do nothing but sit on the porch smoking all day.

To them they must be living the FL dream of having that one palm tree in the front.

Go to an “inner city” school in Harlem or the Bronx. You’ll be amazed at how little kids could already be so out of shape and simply fat. Then you see the parents and it makes perfect sense.
