Sen. Rand Paul (R-KY) told Megyn Kelly on Monday night that he was “glad” to see that students at Sen. Ted Cruz‘s (R-TX) presidential candidacy announcement at Liberty University were sporting “Stand with Rand” t-shirts. He went after Cruz for his approach to winning votes.
The event was part of the university’s convocation, which meant all students were required to attend. Paul said those students made it clear that just because they were forced to be there does not mean they were expressing support for Cruz’s candidacy.
On Cruz’s remarks, Paul said he was “traveling and busy” today but couldn’t find much to disagree with. Paul said he and Cruz come from the “same wing” of the Republican Party and have similar voting records.
“I guess what makes us different is probably our approach as to how we would make the party bigger,” Paul said, seemingly criticizing Cruz for “throwing out red meat,” rather than his personal approach of putting out “intellectually enticing” messages to new groups of people to expand the party’s reach, which he said is “the way to win general elections.” Overall, he argued, “winability” is a big factor that Cruz doesn’t seem to have.
Kelly also asked Paul if he can stand up to criticism from the mainstream media, to which Paul said the key to winning is attacking former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton for her “corruption” and “hypocrisy.”
Paul said there is “some type of announcement” on his potential candidacy coming on April 7th.

The problem for Rand is that he’ll need funding, and it’s hard to get funding when your base spends all of its money on weed, and extra food for the inevitable munchies.

Besides that, Ted Cruz is brilliant and Rand is like his dad, a libertarian; Ted Cruz loves Israel and Rand Paul doesn't (like his dad); Ted Cruz will tell Iran no bomb and mean it and Rand, like his dad doesn't care; on and on.
Trying to out liberal the liberals is not the path to success.
Rand can whine all he wants about true conservative values.

Forgot to add, Ted Cruz is taller than Rand and uses his own hair while Rand doesn’t (his dippy rug, and I do hope that thing is fake, otherwise, why would any grown man wear their hair like a six month baby with curly hair on top but nothing on the sides!)

There were a small number of students with Stand With Rand shirts but the overwhelming majority of the students gave Ted Cruza sincere standing ovation after standing ovation.
Rand like his daddy are so uninspiring with a touch of nutty weasel mixed in. No thanks....
