Unfortunately for newly-announced presidential hopeful Ted Cruz, it looks like his campaign was a touch too slow in securing the Ted Cruz domain. Either that or Team Cruz has been doing some soul searching.
It's hard to believe that Cruz never bothered buy his domain name. But according to Mother Jones, an Arizona attorney with the same name purchased TedCruz.com back in 2004. He decided to do something with it once the Senator Cruz rose to prominence in 2012. Namely, this:

you have got to be kidding, that’s the Mt. Everest of rookie mistakes!
Ted should launch a cruz missile
So make it TedCruz_2016.com or whatever...
Kinda of a no brainer.
Loan him your time machine so he can go back to 2004 and out bid this guy for it.
The DNC is not going to let it go now.
IMO they pay this fellow to keep it and use it. One way or another.
Hope he is budgeting for a fast response social media networking crew to get on top of the BS to come.
Bless him and family as they forge ahead..
An exercise in futility. No Ted Cruz supporter who finds themselves at TedCruz.com by mistake, is going to be in the least moved by the Obamacare propaganda they are spewing out there. Within a week, most Ted Cruz supporters will know it’s TedCruz.org
Ya, what’s wrong with .org?
lol...
The “attack” is thin as paint. What Leftists can’t get their head around is that conservatives aren’t thin. They’re not influenced by crap, because they know it’s crap and reject it. The only people affected by this TedCruz.com hijack will be... liberals. Conservatives won’t be influenced, by definition.
Two different worlds.
He isn’t the first. Anyone remember whitehouse.com? Anybody still have it in their browser history?
Geezers such as I tend to get fixed in our ways. So, many older FReepers are perhaps unaware of the plethora of hyperlinks and addresses that go to domains other than the dot com one.
Dot org will work just fine for promotion purposes since it is also a well-known domain name.
Besides, if someone confuses what they see at tedcruz.com with his true political positions, they’re an idiot from the git go anyway.
nit in my history its been a couple of computers ago....But i DO remember my sooprise at its rather un statesman like appearance
I was sent to it by my ex-boss, who was standing behind me giggling like a schoolgirl when I got bit. I shall have my revenge someday, oh, yes I shall...
I sure do. We had corporate level meetings about that one. Our company had a very strict no porn policy and with it came widely disseminated warnings about carefully surfing the ‘net.

You do understand that the owner has had that domain name since 2004, well before Ted ran for Senate in 2012.
Thank you!! I typically go to Senate.gov or House.gov and follow those links to where I need to go.
It still shows the kind of slimeballs we’re up against.
