Jeb Bush's Matt Drudge problem and why he ticks off so many conservatives
Tampa Bay Times ^ | Mar. 20, 2015 | Adam C. Smith

Jeb Bush has a serious Matt Drudge problem, and that points to a more fundamental electoral problem.

Among the most prominent DrudgeReport.com headlines Thursday evening: POLL: 54% WANT FRESH FACES IN '16....NH voters pan Bush...Jeb Still Refuses to Rule Out Tax Hikes...

The prior Friday, during his New Hampshire debut as a likely 2016 presidential candidate, much of the mainstream media was gushing over Bush's substance, his accessibility and his refusal to pander to the right on issues like immigration reform. But Drudge offered these headlines: RUBIO ON RISE...JEB STRUGGLES FROM WITHIN...Says his view on immigration is 'grown-up plan'...WALKER: 'WE NEED NAME FROM FUTURE, NOT PAST'...

Drudge, a Miami resident and registered independent voter, does not pick the Republican nominee, of course, although he was consistently kind to Mitt Romney in 2012. However, his immensely popular website helps shape the conversation among Republican activists and reporters covering the race.

Jeb has a “Drudge” problem for sure. That is if you spell “Mexico” using the letters “Drudge.”

Screw Jeb, Screw Mexico. I didn’t marry Mexico. Why should my heirs be saddled with his delusions?

I think that Jeb Bush has a very good chance of winning the nomination.

He is running as a Democrat, right?

Jethro is the candidate of the GOP oligarchy.

That's really all you need to know.

No more cheap labor importers.
No Jebster.
No Rubio.
No Perry.
No Huckabee.

I will not vote for anyone unwilling to uphold the rule of law.

All of those wanting to accomodate fraudulently documented foreigners who broke into the country disqualify themselves from consideration.

I voted for W1 and W2, twice. I thought “W” was honest and sincere in his determination to keep us safe from Islam.

I feel he made a very serious, fatal mistake to our freedom by creating the DHS and TSA. There is no doubt in my mind.

For that, I will never forgive that family and I will work fervently to keep another dauphin from it from getting into national power again.

That Jeb Dush is even running proves the RINO party is now completely leftist and a part of the Treason party. They want him nominated so another far left wacko like Hiawatha Warren can take the WH easily because they know damn well Dush has no chance of winning.

The surprising thing about all the comments on this thread is Jim Rob hasn't even banned pro-Jebbie comments and there's nary a FReeper who'll even sneak out into daylight to make any. Romney, after all, had at least some supporters here in at this time in 2007. Not looking good for Jebbie.

The problem is that Jeb’s detractors are unfairly using truth and facts to bolster their criticism.

Jeb tries too hard to triangulate in a WJ Clinton fashion. The trouble is that Jeb is not nearly as slick as Billy Jeff Clinton was.

MEMO TO JEB BUSH:  Instead of getting that degree in Latin American affairs, you might have been wise to get a degree in AMERICAN HISTORY!  Since you're obviously so fond of Latin America, perhaps there's an elective office waiting for you somewhere in Latin America? Oh wait, THEY have very rigid CITIZENSHIP and RESIDENCY REQUIREMENTS down there.

In fact, your wife's home country (that'd be MEXICO) has a heavily defended FENCE across its SOUTHERN BORDER!

never mind

And I suggest that you other alleged Republicans read the thoughts of several of the Founding Fathers before the next election.

PS: And tell us all again why Common Core is NOT a scheme to wrest yet more control over education from the states, locals and, more concerning, parents?

Bush’s campaign plank of “Americans are too lazy and stupid to start businesses and won’t work for the correct wages. We therefore must import people who will get government benefits and interest free loans with no taxes to come in and take over the small business segment. We also need to import low wage workers to adjust wages downward until those stupid lazy Americans start to work for less than a dollar a day.” Why aren’t you guys excited and sending money or volunteering!
