22 March 2015

Ex-President Nicolas Sarkozy's conservative UMP and its allies led voting in the first round of French local elections, exit polls suggest.

They pushed the far-right National Front into second, with President Francois Hollande's ruling Socialists in third.

Voters are electing representatives in 101 departments, or counties, charged with issues like schools and welfare.

A second round of voting will take place in a week's time.

Good news. I hope they remember to stay conservative once they get into office, unlike Boehner and company.

So here in the US this would be like in a three way runoff, that the RINOS and Conservative/Tea Partiers advance?

The exit polls in Israel had Netanyahu’s Likud losing seats. The lefties on this side were cheering.

If Sarkozy is not willing to do anything about the immigration cancer eating away at his country, then it is not good that the “far-right” National Front is not leading. Still, the fact that LePen and the NF are ahead of the Socialists is to be welcomed.

No, the exit polls did not have Likud losing seats. Exit polls showed Likud and ZU tied with about 26 seats. For Likud that was a pick up of six to eight.

Likud actually picked up 10 to 12.

When Sarkozy was prime minister in the past they called him "les Americain." he would be all right if he wins.
