I think Pamela probably gives too much credit to American youts. Progressives have been very successful in dumbing them down.

When it comes to dumbing down, no one does it like a progressive.

Well, I can’t vote for Bibi but I will vote for Ted Cruz.

Here’s the thing about that. Just about all the youth in Israel have to serve in the IDF ... so they get some first-hand exposure on the nature of “security” for the State of Israel!!

Mandatory military service might have something to do with the discrepancy.

"In the United States of America, this very group delivered a fraud, a liar and America-hater into the Oval Office, not once but twice."

And not surprisingly, American youth score poorly on any objective measure of critical thinking skills, math, science, current events, history, etc.

In short: nobody with two brain cells to rub together could have voted for Osamabama even once, much less twice.

That “dumbing down” thing is what the ‘60s radicals set out to do when they went into “education” in droves - not, as many said, because the field is so undemanding that it left them plenty of time outside of class to pursue their radical interests.

This does not surprise me. Most Israeli youth are probably able to answer the most basic of questions about civics and government and history whereas in the United States (and here in Canada as well) in many an instance you might as well be asking about Einstein’s theories or Plato’s works.

This tells me that at least some portion of the media in Israel is aware that they could all get their throats slit and doesnt want that to happen to their kids. American media works to see American kids suffer that fate 24/7.

as much as Bibi frustrates us here (catering so much to Obama and blocking home construction for Israelis, etc.).....
he nevertheless appears to have Israel’s future in his heart.
His main election opponent this time did not sound like he would defend Israel as much.
If you were young, you’d want a future too.

There is a military draft in Israel. All youth serve. There is thus not the irrational paranoia of war that unsettles American youth. They can contemplate war and understand that readiness for war is the surest preventative of war. America lost the VN War on the home front because there were deferments and exceptions. Service was feared because there were so many who did not have to and the exceptions makes it all “unfair” not just because some have to go and some do not but because there are avenues of escape and everyone can hope for that escape.
